    Jan Unicorn BOTM variant

Hi, I'm looking for a second opinion on a build suggested by a company for my budget of $1000-1300, based on the Jan Unicorn BOTM (thanks!). I downgraded the graphics card a bit as I think it's not necessary for me. They're quoting me just under $1300.

    GIGABYTE Z270X - UD3
    Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz / 8MB / HD 530 Graphics/ Socket 1151 No Fan (Skylake)
RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Bus 2133 MHz
    SSD Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SATA3 6Gb/s 2.5"
    HDD Western Caviar Black 2TB 7200Rpm, SATA3 6Gb/s, 64MB Cach
    GIGABYTE™ N1050G1 GAMING-2GD
FSP Power Supply HYDRO Series Model HD700 - Active PFC - 80 Plus Bronze
Case Corsair Carbide Series® SPEC-01 Red LED Gaming (Mid Tower)

I'm not a computer builder myself, and I'm unsure especially about things like the power supply and cooling. It's quite important for me that the thing runs fairly quietly, within reason.

First of all what is this rig going to be used for? Just gaming or you doing video editing/rendering? Cause you don't need i7 for gaming only. Is it 1080p gaming or 1440p?

The following is much better i5 setup, with a gtx1070. Money left for o/s (win10), either 90bucks from the usual stores or simply buy a key from kinguin.net for $25-30 incl buyers protection.

Hi, well, thanks for that, it does look much better. It'd be 1080p. I like the case a lot better too. I'll send it to them and see what they say.

    Cheers.
