    Question Long journeys

What strategies do you use to pass the time?

Apparently audio books are popular. I was thinking of giving them a try.

Regular books give more of a distraction, and thus if I really need to kill some time I prefer them.

Yeah but then you can disturb passengers around you with a reading light.

You know, when I hear the word "journey" I think of me and my friends walking to a volcano to destroy a ring. We're busy trying not to die and carrying heavy swords. Not "journey" as in sitting in a car or a bus for a few hours.

    Tablet/smartphone or sleep.

Wow dude this sounds like you've been playing too many video games. Journey generally refers to a long trip.

an act of traveling from one place to another.
"she went on a long journey"
synonyms: trip, expedition, excursion, tour, trek, voyage, junket, cruise, ride, drive, jaunt, road trip; More

I drive a lot. Usually somewhere between 2,000 and 4,000 miles per month. Audio books are my go to. I've gotten to the point where I will prefer listening to an audio book instead of music or radio.
I'm the root of all that is evil, yeah, but you can call me cookie.

Stay up late the night before and deprive myself of as much sleep as possible. Then go into a sleep coma until I arrive.

I put on music with my phone and sleep.

cant even read a book without offending people in this day an age..

if you are not the one driving , a xanax coma is always nice

What kind of journey? Drive? As a driver? Passenger? By plane? Whats a "long journey" anyway? My dad can spend an entire day driving. The trek Oslo - Germany - Sofia by plane is long for me (2 hours in the air between each country) though slightly relieved thanks to Lufthansa's food and drink. Also, fuck Frankfurt, Munich is so much better

In Ohio? That has to be the most boring thing a human being can experience.
    1) Load the amount of weight I would deadlift onto the bench
    2) Unrack
    3) Crank out 15 reps
    4) Be ashamed of constantly skipping leg day

Not when you have to dodge all of the shitty drivers on the interstate.

Since I'm usually the one driving I don't really have the ability to sit back and relax but usually I'll load up on new albums I've been meaning to listen to. Interesting podcasts etc. But mainly new music.

Most of the time, nothing. I've driven solo from New York to Dallas, and probably only listened to music for about half the time.

I love audio books for road trips, if I am the passenger I prefer real books or I load TV/Movies to my phone/tablet.

Same for me - audio if I'm driving, reading/phone/movies if not.
