mining/herbing while on a 2 person mount?

so I multibox gather and im wondering if this is even possible. like If I ride a mechano hog and have my other character be in the passenger seat. I tried this with both characters having demonsteel stirrups but I still wasn't able to gather on the 2nd character (The one in the passenger seat). It told me I couldnt do that or something.

Is this even possible to do?

there you go... you said it youself... its because the second person is not on a mount, they are on a vehicle
