    The Addams Family

With all the reboots happening would you guys watch a movie reboot of The Addams Family? Was some of my favorite movies when I was younger. Christina Ricci killed it as Wednesday back in the 90's.

I don't know man... I loved the movies, but Addams Family without Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston just seems wrong.

Technically the Addams Family was already a reboot/remake/whatever, that said, I'm not sure I'd want one because comedies today seem so dumbed down, even from what they were 15-20 years ago.

Agreed the movies were great in the 90's. The whole cast was on point. I read in the past that there was supposed to be a movie of them all grown up and shit. Kinda glad they didn't do that one.

I sincerely doubt a reboot/remake would work out. The origional cast was just perfect, Raul julio was just amazing.

Eww, a grown up film would have been really bad, VERY glad that never happened. I think there were a few straight to TV movies, with a totally different cast, but they don't count.

You realize Raul Julia wasn't part of the "original" cast? The movies were themselves a reboot/remake of a TV show. The ORIGINAL was John Astin, not Raul Julia.

But we're just talking about the movies, and there have been recasts of the film version since then... So he IS the original movie Gomez.

I mean, you could say that Connery isn't the original Bond, because he was played a bunch by other actors before that...

But the first film had Connery as Bond, so as far as the films are concerned, he was the original.

You're not wrong, but it's far more likely to be rebooted as a TV series than it is a movie, because they are cheaper.

Tim Burton was supposed/rumoured to do the 3rd part of the '90's movies. If someone could do a decent sequel, I believe Burton would be able to do it.

    Touché .

I would actually be okay with a Netflix show. Not really sure who I'd cast though... Would be funny to cast Ricci as Mortitia though

The difference is, Connnery would still be Bond even if no other adaptations had come first(and not many had, actually, there was a single episode of a somewhat obscure 1 hour TV series that was an adaptation of Casino Royale prior to Connery's first movie, which featured a lead character called "Card Sense" Jimmy Bond) cause it was based on the books. Without John Astin playing Gomez, the Addams Family movies would not even EXIST.

Lets face it a Addams remake is inevitable like the sun rising tomorrow.

Though Raul Julia nailed Gomez Adams we all know its coming (wasnt there a addams family movie made after Raul Julias death?)

Gotta say that The Addams Family Values was my favorite out of the movies. The scene with the thanksgiving play was so well executed.

Christina earned a place in my heart forever with that scene.

Christina is really tiny, she might only be 5'1"-5'2", while Anjelica is quite tall, not sure Christina could pull off that statueous presence.

That's a fair point. You need a certain... Stately carriage, which Ricci just doesn't have.
