    Heroic Gul' Dan problems

    Hey guys.

I am coming to you guys for help as we have now had around 3-4 nights on HC gul' dan and the closest we have gotten to a kill is 4%.

    Phase 1 and 2
is fine and we usually get through without any deaths.

    Phase 3
is where problems comes. We have starten to get the fire under control and tank him near the edge.
We have assigned 4 healers + 1 ranged to soak first souls and rest of the ranged for next soul.
We hero on second eye, meaning that after the first storm of the destroyer we run back with gul' dan and pops hero and burn down the eye.
Problem happens on 3 soul well. It seems hard to soak that soul well?

So do any of you have some tips and tricks for this phase? We have spread out the healing cds for the harvests while having more cds for the later ones.

Might be worth mentioning we are around 18 man 4 healers and 2 tanks with rest being DPS and melee and ranged being split around equally

    Best regards
    Molliyo

Cant post link for logs yet

You can just post the part after warcraftlogs.com/reports/... and we'll be able to check the logs. Kind of hard to really say what's wrong without seeing any numbers.

We found the timing and everything to be easier having melee soak the first set after killing the first eye using 2nd pots. After the first storm you dont have to run back to the boss. He will teleport over. The second eye doesnt line up with tok much damage and once it is down the ranged and healers soaked souls. The 2nd storm is the one you have to backtrack to get the eye he spawns. We bloodlust here to get it down quickly because he casts a second eye shortly after. Then you get any ranged or healers that dont have 3 stacks soak some souls until he starts the stormand have everyone without flames soak the rest up as soon as he begins the storm. Then you stack and blow any cds you have to survive the harvest / dots. once you have 3/4s of your raid at this point its over.

Also make everyone without flames during the storms run thru the center to get to the other side and have the people with flames run around the mid to outer edges to get away.

If you're getting a third soaking phase, you just need everyone to soak that, melee, tanks etc. Just to get through it. Melee really really should be helping soak.

People in that one, should take as many stacks as they need to clear it, trying not to go over 4.

Tank the boss right by the well, have a rogue live in it and keep feint up. It doesn't go over 9 stacks. <3

P1 and P2, save people fast kill adds fast and dont die, P3 assign people to soak and arrange CDs for every black harvest, make sure people run out of the flames, loot

lust as soon as u hit p3, dont save it for an eye, you will most likely miss p3 soak or have the boss near on dead, you can have a sacrifice group to soak it instead

Phase 3 is about not panicking. That's all it is. We tanked him on the edge, and I have assigned soak groups ready to go. We also instructed fire to go counter-clockwise, and tanks would take the boss clock-wise. That way the tanks had room to move, and the fire was contained to the back of the boss. Everyone was instructed to drop fire patches as small and as close to the edge as possible.

We blew lust right when we got the boss into position. Instruct dps to hit their extra action button right before it goes away. Make sure everyone spreads out for the empowered eyes. Also, your tanks are going to get trucked after the channel, so make sure they've got a CD or use an external on them (because he'll continue to gain energy while channeling).

For soaking, I had 5 "ranged" classes in group 1. 3 rdps, 2 healers. I did a similar thing with the next group. Last group was all melee, with the knowledge that we were probably toast if we got to that point. There's a dps component there, he *should* be dead by then. You can also tank him next to the well if you're really melee heavy, but make sure you move him before the storm ability so you have room. First storm, gtfo, get back in position. For the second storm, remember that there will be an empowered eye right after he finishes, but he's gonna teleport away from it - so be ready to haul ass back and burn it down.

It's all about learning the dance, you guys will get it for sure

EDIT: I don't think you need more healers, but make sure your group stacks up for the harvests, it makes healing way easier.

Save hero for the 3rd set of ads, rotate cds for every harvest, the 3rd harvest comes before the big aoe you have to run from after that the boss does nothing for 60 seconds.
