Well, it goes beyond that. Oh, I agree 100%. I can't stand the silicone inflated Standard Hot Girls or "thick" girls garbage (in fact, I prefer thin and small-chested ). If you grew up in a black community, you adapted to your surroundings and probably have more in common with them than people who grew up in an asian community or a hispanic community. You identify more with them therefore you identify as one of them.

But in this day in age, you're only allowed to make up diferent genders. Didn't Bill Nye say we are all one race, from a sceintific standpoint? There are only two genders, but our society seems okay with accepting the 33-58 others people have created. Nope, if you want to claim to be Native American, or at least as belonging to a particular tribe, you have to jump through a lot of hoops before you'll be officially recognized as a tribal member, not the least of which is a DNA test. You also have to have a certain percentage of NA DNA (I forget how much); you can't just show up to tribal functions being whiter than Wonderbread and go, "I'm totally 1/55th Navajo! I'm one of you!"
