Lonely Winter out in the world?

I'm seeing good discussion here there about Lonely Winter for frost mages in dungeons and raids, but I wonder: does it help, or hinter, or not matter much for frost mages doing world quests and such?

You have very good slows a frost mage and will do fine without your pet. If you find you lose many globals in kiting not doing damage, at leat your pet will do some.

I leveled from 100-110 with lonely winter and never ever felt the need to have a pet. You will do just fine with or without.

I find Frost Mage does incredibly well out in the world, without a pet. Just make sure you're using the Vargoth buff at all times.
Granted, it's tough to noticed an extra damage boost when procs let you 1-2 shot everything.

How do you know someone plays on a pvp server? Don't worry, they'll tell you.

Dunno about Deepfreeze, but I certainly do. I'm glad for people who like PVP servers that they exist, so that I don't have to ever deal with it (except when cross-realm grouping sticks me there).
