    Nameplate Concept - Templates

As some of you may be aware, with 7.2 comes removal of customisation of friendly nameplates inside instances due to abuse of them to trivialise raid mechanics.

However that is somewhat another example of using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, as it isn't inherently their customisation that is at fault but the targeted customisation on a per-nameplate basis.

I propose a different solution, a template offering some customisation of graphics, font, size etc for a given type of nameplate.
That way you could still achieve such things as a "headline" text only style or other changes to improve visibility.

What are peoples thoughts on this.
What parts of a nameplate would such a template have to cover, especially were it to be adopted for a wider variety of nameplate types.

On #wowuidev they said they were looking at "exposing some tweakables"
which could be a restricted environment or nameplate cvars, but probably not for 7.2
21:02.21 p3lim TheDanW: secure nameplates pls
21:12.23 _Kee Shall we get Secure Headers for friendly nameplates?
22:01.04 Ketho TheDanW: is there any way we can still just color friendly nameplates by class in dungeons in 7.2
23:00.28 TheDanW Ketho: probably not for 7.2, but we're looking at exposing some more tweakables
    23:01.15 Semlar nameplate-only restricted environment

    Hmm, interesting.
So at least they are exploring options beyond the current quick-fix.
