who knows what's meant by 'greatly increased chance,' but as long as we get 2-3 souls within the first handful of globals it'll be fine (and imo feel much better.)

if you're in pickup group wiping in <1 minute and kicking people for low dps... I dunno, probably a blessing in disguise to be kicked from those

Not really, if it's on heroic or higher you can get a wipe because just a couple of people fucked up, particularly a tank or healer.

But inevitably peopel focus on the damage that was done in the attempt, to see if people are "good enough" - a wipe is seen as an opportunity to dump "low dps".

PUG groups are very often wanting to farm content, and they want the quickest and easiest kill, so after any sort of wipe they invariably start saying "sorry your dps is too low"

Itwas the same in Legion, Archimonde PUG groups were a pain in the arse, you could almost guarantee wipes and the inevitable whispers that would follow them

Afflocks aren't unique in this. Any ramp or resource-build class/spec has the same issue.

Sadly lots of players just can't see past the initial damage meters, and frontloading burst classes can completely dominate them for sometimes a third of the whole fight or more, because they have such a high output at the start.

In any case, regardless of pugs, it is certainly true that in most encounters, the first 30-60 seconds are a period where you get to do free damage, and unless you are specifically saving hero/lust for a difficult burn phase later, being the "catch up kid" just doesn;t feel good.

Even with Reap afflocks aren't going to top in the first 30 seconds, the complaints were quite justifiably about how affliction just feels horrible and you just keep thinking that you're wasting your hero and pot buff because by the time you reach max damage they're half gone. It's a compounded problem, zero tormented souls plus Agony's awful mechanics

As I said, the daft thing was that they gave us three shards in recognition of the exactly same problem. I get why they wanted to equalise performance on pull but making them all feel bad with zero reap was the wrong way to go. If peformance on pull is varying so that some feel better than others, don;t engage in a race to the bottom. The only time that should ever happen is when banking a resource leads to overperformance.

This change is really a QOL thing as much as anything. Doing a few hundred k and seeing Mr Demon Hunter do a million or more just feels lame. Given affliction's issues with stuf flike killing priority adds it doesn't need that on it;s back as well.

"Reap SoulsReap Souls (Artifact ability) now has a 5 second cooldown.
Developers’ note: Previously, casting Reap SoulsReap Souls at 5 stacks (which would grant 25 seconds of the buff) with 20 seconds currently left on the buff would just overwrite your old 20 second buff with a 25 second buff. Now, in this case it will increase the buff duration to 45 seconds."

So apparently, according to the patch notes on icy-veins, buff duration now stacks. What do you guys think?

It's nice to prevent accidental overwriting, but if you're paying attention it will save you maybe half a second of Reap IF you're getting enough souls to have high uptime.
