You can't encrypt your browsing history with that 128-bit encryption. How can the ISP direct you to the site you want to visit if they didn't know which site you want to visit?

Wouldn't be the first government that tries to outlaw that along with it. If they can't break your encryption, they break you with a few weeks in guantanamo .

A VPN would mostly protect you.

We need more 'they are a private company, they can do what they want!' in this thread.

It's the same argument for why companies should engage in censorship, they are a corporation so they can do whatever they want with the data in their possession

Before the camps, I regarded the existence of nationality as something that shouldn’t be noticed - nationality did not really exist, only humanity. But in the camps one learns: if you belong to a successful nation you are protected and you survive. If you are part of universal humanity - too bad for you -Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Currently you can be found in contempt of court for refusing to decrypt your own data if it's suspected of involving the case, even if you're not personally accused of a crime.

I wouldn't have a problem with Comcast selling my well scrubbed browsing history if it meant a reduction in cost for me. Lower my cable/internet bill by $30 a month and we got a deal. But, of course, that's not how this will work. The rich will only get richer.
