    Another frost DPS help question

    Character Name: Fayenoor
    Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...ulty=5&wipes=1

My DPS just simply sucks. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks.

Your damage breakdown is very wrong, it should be much closer to the other mage in your grp Noranica, obviously he has more gear/traits/better legendaries so your probably not gonna touch him on actual numbers but the problem you have is that you proabably dont understand the spec, your most damaging spell should be ice lance with flurry and frostbolt 2nd/3rd.

Should probably check this video out, watch a few times and make sure you understand it, just stop when he starts talking about double ice lance/lag tolerance (thats more advanced stuff)
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHsVsdSF_x0&t=612s

Frost has basic priority list which is:
    Ice lance(when proc)
brain freeze proc(insta flurry), go frostbolt>flurry>ice lance (also do this with ebonbolt>flurry>ice lance)
    Frostbolt

Mix in Ebonbolts and Frozen orbs when off cd and use icy veins at good times, usually can use off cd but if say your about to soak pools out of range on krosus save till after.

So first off, you didn't icy veins until 6 seconds into the fight. Your first icy veins lasts 24 seconds. Icy veins lasts for 20 seconds by default, +2 seconds for each frozen ice lance with thermal void (which you were running) which means in the span of 20 seconds, you used ice lance properly twice.

At a minimum, you had 3 fingers of frost procs, so that should have been +6 seconds (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...&ability=44544).

You also had 3 brain freeze procs, so flurry -> ice lance which is another +6 seconds (we'll ignore double icelance for now)

You can apply this filter to just about every attempt (just change the timing). Ignore the blue line that's moving (that's just damage). Green = you had a buff of fingers of frost or brain freeze. Yellow line = you cast frost bolt. Unless you are trying to be a god with lining up your procs with the 20% damage buff that cycles, you should just be using fingers of frost icelance > brain freeze flurry into ice lance -> frost bolt as a general thing. (https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports...y%24true%24116)

Also, without the gloves or ring or really any spec specific legendary, switch to frozen touch - you'll get a lot more procs and it makes the fight a lot easier. There are other things, but if you just don't waste procs your damage could easily go up 30-50%

As others have said, looks like you just don't understand the spec. I'd recommend looking at the vid linked and looking at icy veins for a vanilla explanation of how to play the spec and what priorities are with rotation/gear/etc.

    Cheers.

You need to use your procs when they pop. They do significantly more damage than frostbolt.
