Alabama governor Robert Bentley resigns after pleading guilty to covering up scandal

Bentley had an affair with an aide, and used public funds to cover it up. With the plea deal, he gets away with basically a slap on the wrist, and loses some campaign funds.

What bothers me is this is a current history for Alabama governors. Don Siegelman was sentenced to six years in prison on charges of corruption, of which he was just released in February. I get it. Politicians suck. But man, I just want it not suck, just for a little while.
