Btw I actually decided to use Dvalen (the iron dwarf) and I found out his passive stacks, if you send him + 2 troops with 1 hp it gives +40% chance. Also for some reason my addon whatever the name but one of the common addons that counts success chance for missions doesn't take his passive into account when suggesting teams. You can often improve the chance if you plan on utilizing his passive. If you get the +1 troop perk (assuming you're done with armaments and don't want to keep sinking resources into 1% chance for follower legendary*) it's fairly easy to save some troops with 1 HP for using with Dvalen.

    * - command center is coming up with the legendary follower item perk, at least on EU, I would assume it's the same on US? I would hope it's not just random chance but fairly reliable way to get one before the building is destroyed, as I've NEVER EVER seen a legendary equipment across 7 alts, neither from missions table / reclamation (monk / druid / shaman perk) or work orders.

Also as much as I would love to keep Ymiron for his lore and make him serve me, I sent him to early retirement because his passive perk is super useless. In that case, keeping Dvalen for second Pummel seemed a good pick.

    - If they do not stack on the same champion (is it even equippable?), do they stack if two or three champions in a mission carry the same equipment?
    - Do same champion equipments of different quality stack, e.g. the rare 30 % success chance increase + the rare 40 % increase equalling 70 % bonus?
All follower items are unique-equipped meaning if you try to slot the same item twice it won't let you saying "this champion already has this item". But you can stack them among different champions no problem.

Yep, one strategy is to have several champions with the +chance to long missions equipments and then deliberately not counter slowing if the base mission is 8h or less (just to enable the equipment).

I've gotten two legendary champion equips from my class hall, they aren't really the best though just a "inbetween" two different styles
A hero of war, yeah that's what I'll be. And when I come home, they'll be damn proud of me

I've done the same, and gone with setup B for that reason, and due to the nerfing of Crowley's combat ally bonus. It also allows me to swap between Thorim/Hodir as combat allies.

Yeah, unfortunately legendary equipment is mostly mediocre.

IMO there's way too much overlap, and especially for how rare it is, I really would have liked to see them incorporate some more interesting or powerful bonuses together. Either you're lucky enough to get a Mission Success/Reduced duration for your main mission champions, or it's something you put on your part time combat allies to help their occasional mission use. Either way, nothing to feel bad about missing if you don't get them.

That's not actually all of the legendary equips, as they added a bunch in 7.2. The new mission ones give 15% increased chance, plus either 15% based on threat present, or 15% reduced mission time (Vial of Sight, Harpy Feather, Fel Imp Tooth, and Cloak of Concealment). The new Combat Ally ones give two of 50g, 100 resources, or an AP token on WQ completion(Pouch of Wonder, Ward of Infinite Fury, and Shard of the Twisting Nether).

The 7.2 ones are at least more focused than the 7.0 ones (which are what's in your image).

I must have missed that info, that's good to hear; thanks for the clarification.

What's the best strat for missions in the 5-7 hour range? Over 8 and under 4 are easy, but a lot of the new AP quests at 900il are in that range, likely so you can't always 200% them. So what gives you the best chance?

Stacking whatever modifiers you can, based on the counters.

    • Svergan + Shieldmaidens + Valarjar with equipment for both is a good combination.
    • Ragnvald + 2x full health Valks.
    • Dvalen + 2x enraged troops.

You can also try stacking duration reduction equipment, I can push 5hr missions below 4hrs to enable extra bonuses, or simply utilizing a lot of Curios/Fetishes.

I thought Dvalen can't enrage twice?

He can, if both allies are at 1 health.

What kind of troll succeeded in picking Crowley? Knockback every x seconds awesome.

From the command center this weekend I got a legendary champion item:

Thing is beast!! 50 gold and 100 resources from a WQ!!

What do you guys think the best champions to give what equipment to? With 6 champions, at least 1 should get all 8h+, <4h, +success, -mission time.

Hymdall obviously should be given the +8h gear. What other obvious choices are there?

  13. #53
I thought about doing an equipment writeup, but the TLDR is that like Champions themselves, there's an incredible amount of leeway, the only real rule is to play to the champions strengths.

    My setups are:

    • Hodir - Fel Imp Tooth, Overwhelming Focus, Carrot Stick (+40% <4hr, -15% duration, -10% duration)
    • Finna - Overwhelming Focus, Timeless Breath, Carrot Stick (+40% <4hr, +40% >4hr, -10% duration)
    • Ragnvald - Valkyra, Timeless Breath, Overwhelming Focus (+15% w/ Valks, +40% >4hr, +40% <4hr)
    • Hymdall - Fetish, Timeless Breath, Bottomless Flask (+15%, +40% >4hr, +30% >4hr)
    • Dvalen - Fetish, Curio, Wartorn Banner (+15%, +10%, +20% w/ Valarjar)
    • Svergan - Skull Fallen Foe, Wartorn Banner, Fetish (+20% w/ Valks, +20% w/ Valarjar, +15%)
    • Thorim - Potion of Triton, Neckless of Memories, Elixir of Plenty (+50 gold, +25 gold, +100 resources)

Basically Hodir is my short mission specialist (can knock 5hr missions below 4hrs by himself), and Hymdall for long missions, with Finna and Ragnvald boosting both roles; Svergan and Dvalen are built for troop bonuses, and Thorim is primary a combat ally only used for missions as an extra Arms counter.

I setup every champ (except Meatball who I use as ally/wild card) with +20 valks, +40/30 long, +15 all. I can't remember the last time I came across a mission that I couldn't easily 200%. Short missions are just much less common than long ones, so I've never felt it's worth gearing for them.

Many of the new il900 missions are in the 4-8 hour range, probably because pre-7.2 it was almost always best to just stack 8h bonuses.

There has definitely been a lot more sub-8 hour missions for sure, but I've still never really had an issue with then due to 15% and 20% with valks. I guess now that I think about it I have covered up a few non-200% missions with balls of energy from Meatball but not many.

As a fresh 110 I'm running 6 champions all just barely into rare. I have all order hall research complete (in 2 days anyway).

If I were to roll with your B list, which champion should I drop? Thorim and Hodir both seem viable to sit since I don't think I'll be using a combat ally. I was using Crowley for bonus resources but don't need to anymore now that research is finished. The problem is your B list would have me drop Hordir whom seems more viable than Thorim.

He is more valuable than Thorim, but Thorim gives different counters. You could go with any of them and drop the ally slot, or drop Thorim/Dvalen from B and have a slightly imbalanced setup - it'll make you a little less flexible, but certainly won't stop you from being able to do missions.

It really is tempting to take the Shock troops over the 7th champion.

Svergan, Ragnvald, Dvalen and Thorim all get a bonus from troops one way or another.

With decent items, having a combat ally can be extremely powerful. Thorim is my choice, for the 25% extra AP, which helps a lot now that things scale with ilvl. With the legendaries, you can get up to 2 tokens per WQ (for me this is 60k each, for a total of 120k per WQ, and 480k extra per emissary- quite a lot).
