This area further reinforces their casino-approach to this expansion.
I wonder if Blizzard really takes into account the amount of "Wow! Cool! Holy crap! moments for a tiny TINY fraction of the playerbase vs the sheer level of salt generated by everyone else who doesn't get blessed by RNG? Would people still be as salty if these kinds of reward were behind highly skill-based achievements like the artifact challenges instead of some random gambling crap?
that's because the spawn rate was broken, that was what you were referring to as being hotfixed. But there are 2 different chests as I mentioned, hidden which are always up regardless of mage tower and veiled which is replaces hidden when mage tower is up, although I never really noticed much of a difference in rewards.
I've opened dozens of the caches now. I've never once gotten anything other than Nethershards, Resources and Gold. No toys or items or what-have-you.
I've also never broken even on the cost of opening one... literally not a single chest has had more than 1,000 Shards in it.
And I've had no less than THREE chests with 1 single, solitary, pathetic little Nethershard.
This entire patch has just been one colossal disappointment after another.
Previous chest I opened, contained a single nethershard, 1.
The one I opened today, contained 100.001 nethershards.
I spent all of them on tokens and got exactly 0 legendaries and 4 procs above the default 880.
All in all, I'm okay with it. I rarely buy keys anyway, just like I rarely didn't do in in the MoP version. It's fun now and then, but not something I'll actively farm to get more attempts for.
Casinos basically work off of this concept; drawing in people by awarding a big payout every once in a while, their actual enjoyment be damned, with the expectation that it will pay dividends later. There is a never ending stream of people willing to ruin their lives at the incredible tiny chance of getting a payout at casinos so ofc that concept would work on something far less malevolent like an in-game currency for a monthly subscription game.
Should we save our Nethershards for 7.2.5 and the release of Tomb of Sargeras, and hopefully get the new titanforged ilvl 940+ for those Relinquished tokens?
let me make sure i understand this correctly...
we are talking about bits of data in a video game
it has 0 impact on any part of real life
its completely meaningless in any way, shape or form outside of the tiny pixels on the screen that wont even matter in a year
and its got you completely bent out of shape to the point that you are acting like you just sat on a rusty spike? are you that pathetic?
Never believe you have seen the peak of human stupidity and ignorance, or you will constantly be surprised by the new levels the reach almost every day
