Former MI6 chief Richard Dearlove says Donald Trump borrowed money from Russia during

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/wo...-a7684341.html

The former head of MI6 has said Donald Trump borrowed money from Russia for his business during the 2008 financial crisis.

Richard Dearlove told Prospect Magazine that “what lingers for Trump may be what deals – on what terms – he did after the financial crisis of 2008 to borrow Russian money” when other banks and lenders would not risk the money, given Mr Trump’s history of bankruptcy.

Mr Dearlove alleged the money was used by Mr Trump to prop up his real estate empire, which was hit hard by the financial crisis. It is not illegal to borrow money from Russian entities but Mr Dearlove, who left government in 2004, did not provide any evidence to support his claim in the interview.

And your opinion on this is?

    No evidence given.....
Regarding the twitter post within the article, 2008 to 2017, Trump could easily have paid off the loan thus backing up his claim of "no loans with Russia". (Talking in the present)

Russia has never tried to use leverage over me. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH RUSSIA - NO DEALS, NO LOANS, NO NOTHING!

The Independent is not a good news source. It's better than the DailyNews but not by much.

It could be fake news. If it's true it could be one of those deals where someone gathered up money to lend to Trump and that money came from a lot of sources including a Russian bank. If Trump personally went to a Russian bank and borrowed money then we've caught him in a lie and some people would say one lie of many lies.

Even that presupposes a totalitarian level of control of Russia, that's not really warranted.

Anything that is innuendo is FAKE news. Unless you have evidence that is vetted and researched and proven to be correct by multiple sources(not just echos) then its FAKE news. Is it interesting? Sure it is. And if proven correct is it illegal, no it's not.

If taking/borrowing money from Russia is Illegal then Bill Clinton should be thrown in jail for taking their money through his foundation that promotes globalization at the expense of everyone.
