    Flying Next Expack

For me No flying on max level = no buying AT ALL, i can accept it for being restricted to max level, but no more grinding for something that Blizzard announcing it as a feature while it was baseline, let me enjoy the content at my pace and the way i want it.

We'll be sure to have fun without you.
Isn't it ironic how education is important, yet people forget all about it when they visit the internet?

I liked how FFXIV did it where to unlock flying you had to visit a number of vistas in every zone HOWEVER I don't mind waiting 3-4 months till first content patch. I think 8 months is too long and I suspect Blizzard now knows this

This. Half the people here quit and just come back anyway. Poor self control I guess.

I am of the same opinion. I haven´t bought Legion due to no-flight (that 2-part achievement being so obnoxiously big, being 2-parts, and part 2 being SEVERAL MONTHS away from the first was an insult), and have postponed buying it AGAIN, due to rumors I heard about Argus (the new zone in 7.3) being a no-flight zone.

I don't think Blizzard knows that. They've been quite petulant about the whole flying thing to be honest. All of WoD they tried to frame the discussion rather than hear what players actually wanted, and when they got called on it and when players were unhappy with the lack of flying, they implemented flying behind a grind. They want players to experience the world without flying for awhile? That's fine. Then just enable flying in the second content patch or so. Locking it behind rep and making you go out of your way for some steps of the questline isn't fun. They didn't learn from WoD, I doubt they learned from Legion.

Flying is convenient, sure, but I can't say that it is vital for me to enjoy the game. Thus I don't mind the current model at all.

Flying is really so far down my list of priorities.

Casino gameplay is what I'm keeping an eye on, and I see no hint that any of it will change when Legion's done nothing but ramp it up.

To each his own I guess. I doubt that holding yourself hostage is going to change anyone's mind. Really there should be a list made of everyone who threatens to not buy the game unless their conditions are met. Then, when they start to post/complain about the next expansion, it would be easier to mock them relentlessly. Turning flying into a reward for playing the game thoroughly seems to be the model going forward. That's their choice and it's unlikely that the relatively few who post incessantly about it are going to make any difference.

If that's your criteria for playing the game then you're ready to leave anyway. Good luck.

Fundamentally? I won't be taking the game seriously for the first 2 patches until flying comes out, just like Legion. It needs to stop being used as a reward and start being used as a tool to better game-play experience.

A rather nice system would be items and quests that allow the use of flying mounts at certain stages (involving verticallity or long distance) and ground mounts at others. It will make about as much sense as not being able to fly for 8 months then magically being able to after doing achievements that have nothing to do with flight, and everything to do with the content you can complete while flying.

Apparently condemning a fascist ideology is the same as being fascist. And who the fuck are you to say I can't be fascist against fascist ideologies?

Pathfinder is the way going forward. You, just like the anti-flying dweebs, will just have to get over it.

I won't be getting the next expansion if it doesn't have flying. BUT I'm not insisting on it at expansion launch, I'm ok with the Pathfinder system.

I think the compromise they struck with the playerbase is the right direction. You want flying?, well you're gonna work for it.

I agree. But people are still finding a way to cry about this whole thing it seems Jay. You SHOULD work to unlock things in a video game. Don't like it then don't do it. Flying is purely optional.

I am absolutely OK with the Pathfinder achievement system. At first you have a period on the ground where you face the dangers and farming and questing (if they keep the world alive like now) is a bit more tedious and time consuming. And then you have flying and you then realize how flying changes the perspective (sic!) on the game.

But I think the 8 months that it took them to unlock flying in Legion was too long, especially in an xpac where they maxed out the repetitive content doing the same world quests over and over again which demands quite an amount of time with alts. Six months would have sufficed.

It won't be a factor in my purchase decision. If class design continues down it's current path, it's highly unlikely that I'll bother with it.

I don't miind having Pathfinder to unlock flying. I don't mind having to wait for a x.1 patch to finish it off. But I do mind having to wait as long as we did in WoD and Legion.

Using Legion release schedule as an example, having flight enabled at 7.1 LAUNCH would be too early for my liking. But unlocking the final objective at some point during the 7.1-7.1.5 cycle, that would have been optimal for me. I almost lost interest in the game because it took so damn long to get flying back and I know I'll end up in that hole again if Blizzard repeats themselves in the next expansion.
