    Feral Gearing Advices.

    Hey, I just got up to a level of gear where i can start to join my guild in mythic runs. My rotation is still shoddy and the tactics on bosses still unsure. So! With that in mind I know i have a lot of work to do there.

    I was comparing myself with another druid who did nearly double my damage on one of the boss fights (with similar ilvl)
    He has much higher AP and much better relics ( I know i have to work on getting better ones then I have)
    However, I noticed he had lower mastery and higher crit.

    Him: Agility: 35,957 Stamina: 66,148 Crit: 11,246 Haste: 8,248 Mastery: 7,156 Versatility: 1,193 -- 27843 2nd stat points total
    Me: Agility: 33,626 Stamina: 61,999 Crit: 8,699 Haste: 3,226 Mastery: 11,213 Versatility: 2,138 -- 25276 2nd stat points total

    Also noticing he has nigher haste and higher vers. and a lot higher Agility.

    IV:

    "
    Agility;
    Mastery;
    Critical Strike;
    Versatility;
    Haste.
    Both Mastery and Critical Strike are very close to each other, and often will shift places depending on the other stats on your gear so be aware of that."

    I would guess an amount of the stat differences are better optimization and maybe different trinket choices, but should I be aiming for a higher crit rating then I am? (maybe instead of socketing and enchanting everything into mastery put some more crit?) Or is he just had some bad luck with his rolls on gear and thus some are inflated and he could be doing even more damage with higher mastery?
    Does mastery have a cap? Maybe crit has more value if you're close to a break point? or maybe because of ledgendaries?

    Also, How important is our 2 and 4 set bonus? currently i'm using 0 set. I have the set pieces but i have better (and more mastery) none set pieces, I have chosen not to use the set because i don't use thrash... Should i be aiming for 4 set above all? and thus start to weave in thrash in my single target if i get a free cast? does thrash only become worth it when i have maxed the thrash artifact trait and have the legendary bracers.

    I know its a lot of if buts and maybes. and I know its not going to make THAT much difference as im still struggling with the rotation, but it would be nice to know where to aim for with the gear.

    I logged out in boomkin gear (with feral daggers for ap giving...) so my armory does not help much. but ill link it anyways.

    Any advises is helpful. Thank you for your time.

    Edit: just for referance,
    He used Chatoyant Signet and Luffa Wrappings
    I use The Sentinel's Eternal Refuge and Fiery Red Maimers

    I had this exact same situation last night where I came in at 75 Percentile and comparing myself to the #1.

    I'm sure that anyone/everyone in this community will tell you that we don't have caps/break points and to sim yourself every time you get a new piece of gear.
    Our 2 pc is fairly important IMO and our 4pc is crucial. I wouldn't play feral without having my today without my 4pc and can noticeably tell when I am missing a pc.
    You don't trash? You should always thrash when you have 4pc. I don't have luffa's and I thrash. I try my make use of my OoC proc for trash. All of my gear is enchanted/gemmed for mastery.

    Fiery red Maimers are one of our top legendarys for ST because of their stats.

    Well like I said earlier, I normally manage to get 70-75% of my item level so maybe the information I provided for you today won't be fully accurate and one of their top dog druids will see this thread. If you want more of a conversation, I recommend reading xanzas guide and going to our dreamgrove discord.

    What trinkets are you using?

    Thanks for your response, as I said before im still trying to learn the rotation so i dont high good percentiles at all. You think 4 set is worth dropping a chunk of ilvl over?
    Trinkets i normally use are the Draught of Souls 880 and Nightblooming Frond 875, but i have a good selection at levels around 875-885.
    would you use thrash on single target if you didn't have 4 piece ?

    Thrash is still good to use on ST, but only on OOC procs, just for extra bleed damage. I think that the 4pc is around a ~8-9% increase in dps overall. Only way to say for sure is to sim it with simcraft or use raidbots.com. Nightblooming is one of our best trinkets by far. I'd have to see what other trinkets you have, but typically stat sticks with mastery are great. Ferals are lucky that no one stat is far overwhelming the others. We are pretty balanced. But you should aim for crit/mast of course. Typically you'd gem/enchant for whatever is your lower of crit or mast, but I just always go for mast.

    Odd question. Don't happen to have a log of the fight do you? Might help look at what you were doing vs what he was doing. Even just a recount or skada log would be handy.

    This is kind of exactly what i was looking for, so 4 peice is a good dmg buff but not so much that losing a bunch of ilvl isnt worth it. some of the peices i have are lik 20+ ilvl lower to get the set up and running, I tried with it last night and have to get used to using thrash on ST now. ^_^

    the logs i have are rubbish, as i said. I'm still learning the fights so often times i was worrying more about the fight then the damage. So i realise my ranking was going to be MUCH lower, it just confused me why our stat prio's were so different.

    I have A LOT of work to do on my rotation its still not feeling natural to me so things are not happening when they should. I'll take me time to get used to it. that's all.

    Thanks to all for your reply's.

    I don't give a hooty ptooty about your rankings. I want to see how your dealing damage, the sources and such. Stats are great, but sources are much better. I get that your learning. But learning without knowledge is pointless vs learning with guidance. but hey, your choice.
