Humans are, sans weapons, among the most pathetic animals on the planet when it comes to a fight. We are weak, slow, so-so hearing/sight/smell, laughable teeth and claws.... If it wasnt for our brains, we would be lunch for almost every predator the size of a coyote and up.

Hmm...I'd pick a different yardstick to be honest. Sure, a coyote could outrun you, but unless you were old or weak or something, killing one without any weapons or tools should be pretty doable. Hell, even larger canines like wolves should be doable, though you're likely to end up quite injured in the process, but this is true even if you fight another adult human. Though in reality it wouldn't even come to this; both wolves and coyotes are quite afraid of adult people, and won't even attack them in packs.

And as far as hearing, sight, and smell, that's all relative. For example, a lot of people assume that most/all animals have better smell than a human, but actually hardly any do. A common myth for example is that if you touch a bird's babies then it will abandon them because it can smell what you leave behind, but this is totally false; for starters, your sense of smell is a LOT better than the bird's.

I'd take a gun any day but isn't the penetration ability of a bow and arrow greater than a lot of firearms?

If you are poor an arrow can be reused. Or you need less equipment to make a new one?

Better be really good with the bow. Odds are you will only get one shot. And yeah, they do have good penetration and certainly can be deadly, but they are not noted for knock down power and usually cause a lot of internal bleeding so the subject dies from a lost of blood. Which can take some time, unless you hit a main artery.

That is not true. Some do not. But many do. Esp. wild boars, coyotes, bears, wolves and elephants even. The Common dog's sense of smell is about 7 times greater than a human's is. And dogs pale in comparison to other creatures like bears. And if you are of average build for a human male, you would get your ass owned by a 200 pound male Timber Wolf. Females could just forget it and roll into a ball and hope the wolf loses interest.
