There are a ton of fans of the old sonic left. Kind of the reason why Sonic Mania's announcement got so wide spread. And most of us also really liked Generations. And Forces looked cool as well until this dumbassery.

Well it's not like NOT having this feature would stop people from creating sonic OCs, so... what's the overall harm done?


Hell, if anything, this keeps it in a game where the character is limited to whatever the game can do, as opposed to what the unholy minds of the sonic fandom can scrawl out.


Though I never really understood the obsession with sonic anyway. Why sonic? Pokemon, Mario, Zelda... none of those are known for the disturbing fan art that sonic is known for.

Why oh why couldn't they just include more of a cast of you know, the characters that actually exist.

Normally character creation is awesome, but when it comes to Sonic, it's tainted from Deviant Art.

As one who had read the entire sonic comic lines up until their discontinuation I don't see anything unnatural with a character creation system for the setting. Sonic and the Freedom Fighters have constantly gotten new allies and enemies through its run time. Characters like Mina the Mongoose and others who sorta dropped in for a few stories or what not created a diverse cast and gave that touch of special talent and badassery that Sonic and Co. had through the games and comics. With all the WoW/warcraft porn out there are you going to complain if WoW2 had a character creation option? What Worgen/Dreanei/Tauren are a race? Fur f**s! Maybe they should take character creation out of wow and you can play orc or human all looking the same. Because rule 34 somehow degrades your sensibilities.

Not to mention if you know the source of all these things that strike at your personal taste and morals.. well hate to break it to you but you are the one going to places that have image sharing. Don't even try to blame others like you don't have your own agency, when you look into the necronomicon you are going to see some crazy shit. But you are the one that opened the door in the first place. If you want less ideas and opinions around you maybe you should stay off line and go to church, a safe space for robot masses.

I think you're completely missing that Sonic is already known for having a ridiculously large cast, and they continue to pump out even more new characters nearly every game.

That's part of why I find this ridiculous personally. They could have easily just used characters that already exist, rather than discard them into the void.

If it's a character they can make using the game, then at least you know it won't be some weird foot-fetish futa-inflation ovipositation drawn in MS paint. It'll just be whatever the limits of the games customization are.


And it's not like sonic treats its characters with much reverence, given the quality of the games lo this past decade. So why should it matter if a player can make their own little non-abomination?
