Beat the Chromie scenario today as Ret, here are some tips.

If you're looking to get the new plate mog asap and don't want to bother waiting for Chromie's time gated talents here are some tips.

    1. There's a lot of RNG involved even when you path perfectly, be ready to fail a lot.

    2. If you have a CoF it's definitely worth equipping regardless of ilvl. It's pretty crucial for making the dragonshrines smooth. If you don't have CoF I would suggest HoV, FCM, anything that's good for bursting down the elites. Most of the run is killing elites so you should build for it.

    3. Talents (1-3 from left to right) 1/1/1/2/1/1/2 (DP and CoF is the dream team here.) CoF and DP allow you to have Wings up for nearly every elite pull, even the easy ones. More wings is good. I recommend JV over Eye for an Eye because of DP synergy, and the fact that most of the elites can be stunned. I had some gorgeous 17 mil crits after getting a couple of damage buffs.

Also should mention that being boosted to 1k ilvl gives you a lot of extra secondaries, with my gear I had 40% haste which was why I picked DP over crusade. I lost too much value on crusade whenever Chromie TW.

    4. There are 5 Magnataur around Dragonblight, one at the foot of Wyrmrest Temple and one by each of the shrines. Kill these while wings is on CD. They give 1 to 2 vials each.

    5. Pick priority from vials: Big Treasure (portal skips), Dragonshrine skips, 30s timer, damage/healing, any other timer, runspeed then damage reduc.

    6. Legendaries. I ran with the standard cloak/belt however if you're not lucky enough to have those 2 I would suggest the bracers for the additional cheat death (everything in the scenario hits like a truck and Chromie's healing is sketchy at best, you can also cheese a lot of areas by chain pulling). TBH the legendaries didn't play a huge part in the successful run. Any combo of 2 would do. Even if you have no legendaries it should still be possible.

Sephuz is also a super strong legendary. Nearly every single mob is stunnable and has a cast that you can kick, giving it insane value. With the fist of justice talent you can have stun up a lot so you can get a ton of value from sephuz.

    7. If you don't get at least 2 portal skips (big treasures) after finishing the dragon shrines just reset the run. The best ones to get are Well of Eternity and Strat (a lot of ppl think Andorhal is a good skip but there's a lot of additional vials from the mobs you're forced to kill so you can easily add more time/more buffs.)

    8. Every time you enter the scenario you lose your greater blessings, don't forget them. A good time to buff without wasting time (since it takes 2 GCDs to buff) is as chromie is about to summon your 1st Dragonshrine boss.

    9. Chromie Time warps on the 1st pull you do, make sure you get value out of it. For example if you get the quest to kill the Void lord at the blue shrine I will typically go to the green shrine 1st. The Void Lord (blue shrine boss) has a bit less HP than the others and I would typically lose a bit of value from TW.

That's the big stuff, there's a lot of smaller optimizations but most of them are found as you get a few good runs in. I would highly recommend you try doing each portal a couple times before you commit to the full run. You don't know what skips you're gonna get so you should be prepared for any of them. My successful run skipped Hyjal and Stratholme, I basically only succeeded because of how often I did Andorhal without skipping. It took me around 2 dozen runs to get a full clear. Don't be afraid to reset either. It costs you nothing but time.

Thanks for the tips bro I tried yesterday and got several times 7/8 with your tactic, but unfortunatly i didn't get 2 skips in 1 run.. Maybe I need to spam more till i get them.

I was using Aggramar's Strides with 20% research buff to run faster through Strat and Eye part of the scenario, its rly nice since all our gear is ilvl 1k with big secondary numbers.

I've also found ending with the black dragon area helps as you can fly up in the air and drop to your death. Release as soon as you land and you're back at Wyrmrest with an extra 40 seconds or so that you don't need to spend flying back.

One piece of advice; if you're making short guides like this, stop using acronyms for pretty much everything. You, and a small few, might instantly know what CoF, DP, HoV, JV and FCM mean, but most people will have to look this up. Kind defeats the purpose of a guide... It's not hard to just type Divine Purpose instead of DP.

This event is meant to be redone over and over, until you finish all the main quest thats allows you to go directly on the boss on the run after. I dont think all of Chromie buff are needed, but it will make things faster overtime. The last buff gives you a flat +50% dmg, whcih won't be needed if you gear is good enough.

Aoyi tips is pretty good. Dying also you to get TP to Wyrmrest Hold, saving a lot of time.

You can use Vial while flying too.

If you're stuck and need more buff to go faster, while waiting the 1 day cooldown for a new ability, go farm your reputation! (you just need to kill mobs).

How does better gear matter if you're scaled to 1000 ilvl anyway? The only thing i can think of is using specific legendaries or set bonuses.

Yeah if you don't get 2 skips then just start over. I tried doing 1 skip a bunch of times and always ended up being around 2 to 3 mins short.

TBH with the scaled ilvl even if your gear has bad stat distribution it shouldn't matter. Most of the run is killing single elites, which is the one situation where mastery is actually a good stat. With Ret's worst stat actually being good I can't see how changing gear sets would improve the run beyond personal preference.

You just don't play a paladin...

If you don't know your spell you may have other priorities than clearing Chromie on day 1, or more likely no priorities at all (no need to "herp derp it's only a game" me, thank you).

I completed this timed and I had to do stratholme last. In case you don't get the stratholme skip like me remember that you can buy all quest items and then pick up and turn all the quests instantly!

I gotta agree there, I didnt pay attention the first times I was doing it. I though we just had a +stats boost, but we're actually lvl112.
Lets go with stats/trinket optimisation then

I didnt test it ilvl830-840 trinket get buffed to ilvl1000 too. Some would be very strong at that ilvl. (But im almost done anyway, its not that hard actually once everything is cleaned).

There are 2 pets that can drop from Time-lost Wallets (when u pick Treasure from Sands of Time) and alternative way to get some Timewalking Badges (same way of obtaining). Other than that, no, there is no point than race against the clock to beat rng and urself.

Another tip, chests seems to respawn after 3-5minutes. The best ones are Andorhall and Hyjal cuz u can fly and area is small, if u need more buffs/time.

I'm not a paladin player, but I'd like to mention a thing that hasn't been mentioned here yet which is that if you wait a while in the Well of Eternity portal the patrolling abyssals will go apart a distance that should make it possible to run past between them without aggroing any of them. This saved me a lot of time yesterday during my successful run (I got the Stratholme skip only and I still had about two minutes of stolen time when I finished). Also, try to save the most "dangerous" (DPS-dependant) portals for last, as then you have the most damage/survivability buffs (from my experiance this would be either Andorhal or Hyjal, but I guess it depends on how you handle the individual portals).

Getting exalted with chromie rewards the Timelord title. Also, there are 2 pets that drop in the scenario as well.
