A gem that few people have seen: Ridley Scott's "the duellists" from 1977

The duellists is a historical drama about honour, duels and the hunger for satisfaction. The movie is set around the time of Napoleon and features mostly Hussar cavalry and other military ranks from the era.

It was Ridley Scott's first feature film as a director and it won the Best Debut Film award at the 1977 Cannes Film Festival.
With Harvey Keitel in the lead role, the movie delivers in all it's simplicity.
