Legendary Upgrade Quest Changed

Seems like any Writhing Essences you get now go into your currency tab instead of updating quest progress. I had 20 as quest progress and did 2 emissaries and now i still have 20 quest progress, but 11 essences as a currency now. The quest giver in Dalaran seems to be based on that currency now as well but i'm not sure. He doesn't sell the upgrades either.

So what am i supposed to do with this currency of Writhing Essence as well as a quest to obtain Writhing Essence that no longer seems to update?

EDIT: I relogged and the currency and quest progress and currency both combined, no loss of Writhing Essences hooray. No longer do we have to worry about going over the cap and having people have to hearth out between every single boss in tomb.
