Downside for having arena cutoff per spec or class?

Just a thought. What would be the downside for having our 3v3 title cutoffs based around spec/class? Seems like this would discourage fotm reroll and a lot of the salt we come across on forums. Rank 1 tournaments will always be based around pvp gods and the comps they play, but what about us mortals that play around the world 2k bracket?

The best approach in that setting will be fotm 3v3 team where one teammate swaps to a bottom class twink til they push him to high rating. This will of course still favour fotm rerolling as every teammember will need a fotm class to support the other teammates swapping to their bottom tier twinks.

OP, no disrespect intended toward you but given the rampant cheating since at least MoP and the ease at which people can buy carries, pilots, wintrades...let us know when PvP titles mean a goddamned thing, whether arena or RBG.

You get R1 or w/e title-rank in PvP and what does it mean? That you're the king sitting on top of a steaming pile? Sort of like being a tinpot dictator in a 3rd-world shithole. Not much to brag about.

That's not to say everyone is a scumlord. Some refuse to play in any way contrary to the ToS. But PvP is a team effort, there are no ratings or titles for 1v1. Which means anyone or any team you were on that cheated on the way to your ranking taints that ranking.

Blizz would have to do a helluva lot more to crack down before Rated PvP can gain any semblance of legitimacy IMO.

On spec/class title cutoffs, it would probably be a disaster for various reasons, mainly because there is no way Blizz will ever get PvP class balance close enough to warrant it. People would ofc find ways to exploit the better specs and the lessers would be shut out. Just another way for ladders and rankings to be exploited.

Blizz doesn't want balance, and never did despite the bullshit they've peddled for years. FotM/OP specs encourage rerolls which means more time-in-game/longer subs and thus more profit.

Templates and the Legion system was their latest bait & switch scheme that obviously hasn't balanced specs, it just increased the grind. You still have your half dozen to a dozen best specs in PvP and the others are generally not used.

People would complain their spec/class is to fotm for it to be fair.

But I wouldn't mind a 2nd set of titles (also separate titles for 2s) to be handed out via specs, and keep the normal titles in place

That would be impossible. It would be too much proof at how bad pvp is in this game and how unbalanced classes are. The last thing they want is something a player can point to and go... "there , there see how there are no high ranked shaman." (example).

    People already do that though.
