Because of Windfury, I always loved that design. It was more impactful in classic/BC though, 2hand Windfury proc gave massive joy.
Shamans has been the pretty balanced throughout most if WoW.
I don't main a shaman but aside from the removal of totem drop-down bars (which I really liked), they really made shaman a lot better class fantasy-wise in Legion. The class used to be very drab and boring for me til Legion.
Elemental just feels nice to play for me.
Also chain lightning is visually the best spell in game imo
Cool visuals, Windfury, able to reincarnate, having support stuff that other classes didnt have in the past...
Lots of different reasons. I always liked being more support-ish in games and shaman used to be a decent support class back in the day, which made me choose this class.
Sometimes streaming on Twitch.tv, leave me a follow or a message if you like!
Cuz enha is the spec I enjoy the most. Maybe not the best but i am not in a world#1 guild so w/e
It's a well rounded class with enjoyable mechanics. You don't have to talent for AoE or Single Target, but you can augment either play style via talents. You can choose to DPS or heal, and you have two flavors of DPS. It doesn't have every role on the table in the same way that Druids do, but Shaman isn't thematically drowned in the nature vibe either.
I swapped from Destro to Ele for way the basic mechanics work when 7.0 tore Destro apart. It's not uncommon for me to be frustrated by the RNG that Ele has to deal with, but the random elements haven't destroyed my enjoyment of the spec either.
What I fell in love with from the beginning was how unpredictable you could be as a Shaman...now i'm talking back in the day when Windfury could one shot people and lava burst actually did damage. People would be fucking afraid of you when they saw you....but then Blizzard decided to nerf the crap out of the "unpredictability" of Shamans...It's never the same thing with Dps Shamans, that's what I love about it as oppose to having a boring rotation that you follow all the time.
I came from FFXI before WoW and loved the gameplay of blue mage and red mage. Classes that mixed melee and spells on almost even footing. I decided to try out shaman when I created my first toon and chose Enhancement as my spec because it matched what I was looking for. Its gone through a TON of changes in the last 10 years, but I think as long as I play WoW, I'll be in it as ENH. It still just feels the most like what I'm looking for in the game.
So they can trade their loot to the Hunters, which is an much bigger damage increase.
Theme and playstyle for me. Master of elements, spirits of ancestors, summoning wolves, providing one of the best buffs in the game. Playstyle is pretty cool too, I kinda like the whole idea of charging your weapons with the elements and crash lighting is incredibly satisfying to use in densely packed mobs.
First char was a shaman, a troll resto shaman. Was quiet fun but never got to far but was always enjoyable. Specially when I finally got a good 2H to go enh in PVP. Then I started loving it.
Playing resto shammy now in legion and loveing it to 100%. So much shit you have and can do, feel like iam a healing god.
But mainly why I rerolled shaman in legion was for............... ghost wolf. Yes. Ghost wolf is by far my favourite shaman "spell" Specially with the wind jump now.
Otherwise I just liked thrall and shamans overall in the lore and think they are the coolest lore class. And might with elements, epic
Funnest Caster, Funnest Melee, Funnest Healer.
I've tried going the FotM route but Warlock, Druid, and Priest just aren't that fun. Mage and Warrior aren't too bad though.
I play it for the ladiiiies.
In reality though, ive played resto shaman for a decade, but I dont like the recent changes. Im not a huge fan of our mastery, but what really broke it for me was cloudburst totem. I dont like the way it feels. I dont like the way it plays.
Ive moved to elemental and the gameplay is fun, but its far from rewarding sadly. The RNG swings are just too big. Am I going to end the fight at 700k or 900k dps? WHO KNOWS?
Sadly the only thing keeping me in the class is sunken cost. So much time. So much lewt. I dont have time to main change.
