Why do people still use the term Third World?

Well, was. As it stands it is as per english wikipedia:

Scholar and Professor George J. Bryjak defines the First World to be the "modern, industrial, capitalist countries of North America and Europe".[6]
L. Robert Kohls, former director of training for the U.S. Information Agency and the Meridian International Center in Washington, D.C. uses First World and "fully developed" as synonyms.[7]

Wow... a definition that excludes other continents altogether. Baffling. Japan isn't a first world country because it's in Asia.

Underdeveloped, developing and developed. It is still extremely simplistic, but it gets the job done. If you have trouble with large words, maybe you should reconsider your country being developed in the first place.
