What Makes Fire so Good on Avatar?

I see Fire beating Frost by a lot on Fallen Avatar (referring to Warcraft logs) and can't really think of a reason why? Is it just ignite passively being on the maiden the entire fight leading to a bit of padding? Or is it similar to Assassination beating Sub on Maiden because cooldowns line up better?

You can make use of firestarter two times (first 10% of the boss and the first shield). It's like you get two extra combustions for free.
Mobility is also a qol plus for fire.
Other than that ignite spreads while lances do not cleave.

As you thought, it's the autocleaving to the add. Haven't looked at recent logs at least, but first few weeks, when everyone was shouting Fire is better on Avatar, Frost still did around the same damage to Avatar as Fire did even on top logs.

Granted given that they are quite even, I'd still much rather play Fire, because of the belt giving free movement downstairs.

fire has better cleave, but just looking at top dps is kind of moot, if you can get 4 maiden shields it doesn't matter how much dps you are hitting her with

well, fire only has better cleave bcoz frost's cleave from splitting ice doesnt work on avatar but tbh, you shouldnt even touch the maiden on avatar especially if you're going for 4 shields.

fire is only really good due to the firestarter talent and the fact that maiden ignite jumps to avatar for extra free dmg on him which is significantly more important than the ignites jumping onto maiden as it is a pretty tight dps check.
