But why? There are already 2000% too many skins. This would just hurt my vallet even further.

Admittedly I was disappointed they didn't add a skin for the Diablo anniversary.

The kicker is that no matter how cool some of these skins are Blizzard won't use them because they would have to credit the artist and that usually leads to lawsuits. "Hey here is a great ideal!", "Great, now we can't use them."
If you push a button that finds you a 'random group' and it gives you a random group of people with random skill and random knowledge then you have no right to complain that a 'random group' button did what it was designed to do. The fault lies in your inability to make friends to play with instead of relying on a button designed to be random. It is a 'random group' button, not a 'best of the best' button.

I personally hope they keep the other blizzard ip's out of in-game skins. It's refreshing playing a bliz game without all that crap in it. The player icons are pretty harmless, but skins? Ugh.
