I was super drunk once and asked my friend to drive me home. He couldn't handle the power of my car although he was sober and crashed, totalling my car. We were both uninjured but 20k down the drain.
5000 to 10000 damage is the max option? What a shit poll. They're gonna need a new car.
That's nothing. Daily dose of Russian car crash videos at mere 60-70 km/h will show cars with way more damage.
I've been in 3 car accidents, only 1 I was the driver, none were my fault not even 1% my fault.
First one I was 14, my older brother had just got his car and license, literally had this car for 2 weeks before totaling it. I asked him to drive me to a friend's house, and I told him to take a right at a fast intersection with no stop sign on our side. He starts taking right, and I say "No Erik, LEFT!" and he quickly whips the car heading left. All I remember is saying "You really need to learn your left from your - POW!!" the truck behind us started passing us on the left since he thought we were following through with the right turn. We got T-boned on the driver's side and my brother got hurt really, really bad, plus totaled his car and spiked his insurance ridiculously. I still feel guilty about it from time to time.
Second crash I was in, I was the driver. Old guy tried using one of those "Authorized Vehicle Only" gaps in a highway's median to do a U-turn. He went from 70MPH to a near dead stop before making the turn. The car in between him and I slammed on their brakes and veered to the right, I didn't have fast enough reflexes to check if my right was clear and swerve that way, so I opted to slam on my brakes and aim for the old guy's car (Since I knew an accident was imminent, I didn't want to involve more than 2 cars). I didn't get super hurt, I did total both his car and mine. Amazingly he was 87 years old, I smashed into his driver's side, and he was completely unharmed. He was also extremely polite to me, picked the glass out of my hair and wiped the blood off my forehead, he was crying the entire time since he knew it was his fault. Psychologically that was the worst part.
3rd accident I was on vacation in San Antonio. Friend was driving, whipped out onto the highway and didnt accelerate fast enough and got our tail smashed in by someone not paying attention and going 80 MPH.
only time I've been in any kind of car accident was when i was with my friend driving on the freeway (though now i can't recall where we were going). We were in the left lane and had a motorcycle in front of us and suddenly he served into the right lane and kept going and the reason he swerved was because the traffic in front of him was slowing down but she realized that fact too late and ended up slamming on her brakes but ultimately slamming into the back of the car in front of us. It was some Chinese traveler on business and he was quite shaken up.
I never liked being in the car with her driving before that and now I just flat out refuse unless its an emergency.
We cannot go back. That's why it's hard to choose. You have to make the right choice. As long as you don't choose, everything remains possible.
Duuuude this thread does a 180 pretty quick.
The answer to the poll would be "whatever the value of the car was before falling 7 stories". The car is totaled.
In the movies, that car would have exploded.
