No, it doesn't.
Neither the OP nor "ageism" has anything to do with diddling children. It's about age discrimination. And if you'd bothered to actually read through the OP and subsequent posts, you'd see the discussion is focused on age discrimination in employment.ageism
prejudice or discrimination against a particular age-group and especially the elderly
Yes but this is what I was responding to when you replied to me
Who was replying to this
Which was in direct reply to the OP, and I broke down what ageism was in reference to difference circumstances.
So wen you responded you responded to what I said after being addressed specifically about Age of Consent laws.
Hope that clears that up.

I saw the chain of comments. And again, "Ageism" and the OP have nothing to do with "age of consent". Even your initial comment ("No fucking someone who is barely an adult without enough experience to really make an informed decision vs some old ass pervert") is completely irrelevant to the OP.
Ok, by time I count to 3 you are going to forget everything you saw or we been talking about or, 1...2..3... You forget yet? What if i pay you $50.00
Alright seriously, yes I answered the OP in the context of how I viewed it as far as what it was really about and the response I got pretty much confirmed it.
Now look over there, something shiney....

yeah, but the people making these decisions aren't new recruits. They're typically people who have been with that company or employer for years already. Like I said, when an employer hires you, they're not just hiring you currently, they're hiring you for the years to come thus it's not unreasonable take age into account due to the issues that start occurring when someone hits 60 or 70. They get much more out of investing in a 20 or 30 year old than they do investing into a 50 year old.
It's legal, but people do it because generally speaking, hiring older workers is a net loss compared to hiring someone younger. There's always going to be exceptions to the rule, but in general it's just a smart decision to stay away from elderly workers for a myriad of reasons. It is a sad situation no doubt, but it's not like it's being done for no reason.
Well the Armed forces are discriminating right there.
I know of men & women who are super fit at age 45 -50
Can't see why the armed forces cannot raise the Bar to even 45..or 50
Heck Tom Cruise is till doing his own stunts and jumping of buildings at age 55.

.
It's not just about energy, but also about drive and motivation, being hungry to succeed, to have grown up with mondern technology, being fit and healthy, to be a long term employee worth investing in, etc. etc.
The difference between someone that's 20 and someone that's 30 is already big. The gap between 20 and 45+ is huge.
Yeah it sucks to lose your job at 45+ and having to compete with young people, but you only lose that competition if you spend the last 25 years not learning anything that's worth it to hire you over a younger person.
Have valuable skilles and knowledge = age matters LESS (but still matters)
Have no valuable skills and knowledge = they choose the younger person100% of the time
The age limit for the US Air Force for enlisting is 39. 35 for the US Army. I think the US Army Reserves however has a age limit of 40. Things are on the decline for the large majority of people when they hit 50. A man's physical prime age on average is 28. https://www.stripes.com/news/air-for...to-39-1.290578
