Several questions for DPS improvements

Hi there,

with the new set bonus and other things, i have a few Questions, so lets get right to it.

1. With the 4p, does the opener change from IV, Ebonbolt, flurry and Icelance, into Frozenorb, IV, ebonbolt, Flurry and icelance? Is it worth it to give up a icelance for the extra dmg on ebonbolt? (yeah I activate IV after ebonbolt cast finished)

2. How far are the bracers BiS legendary, compared to other items. I fuck up the buff a lot (dropping it, refreshing it without proc to early). Are they still BiS for a mediocore player? What is the alternative?

3. Do you cancel ebonbolt cast, when you get midcast a icelance proc?

4. How bad is mastery compared to versatility? I am avoiding it a lot.

5. Any other tips / issues with my playstyle/gear?

1. Difference is like 1k or 2k dps, ebon bolt -> iv > flurry Icelance into orb and yada is the opener I Think

2. The legendary bracers are BiS, no way around it. If you are messing it up then value does drop but it really isn't to hard to use, i.e. you don't play around its buff

3. Don't cancel casts period, always a loss

4. You basically got it, just avoid mastery unless you're doing the glacial build (which is already inferior so bleh)

5. Didn't look but I might look later and edit

P.s. a good place to look for info is on the site altered time as well as the mage discord but I'm open to answering things on here as well

1 - opener is still EB > Flurry+IV > IL > Forb > normal rotation

2 - yes Bracers are BiS but they aren't game breaking. Still havent got my frost Bracers yet and I have 2 legendaries to go. You don't monitor the buff though, treat it as a passive. They will still be BiS generally especially if you can run 2+4pce.

3. Never cancel casts. Just munch the Icelance.

4. Mastery is utter crap unless you're playing fire, so save off-spec gear if you plan to play fire ever. You pretty much dance around shatter cap and get vers/haste as high as you can. Even for GS I wouldn't say mastery is good to stack so yeah.

Thanks alot for your help. Raided yesterday and could improve my DPS by roughly 5-10%. Completly ignored the braces buff and treated as a passive (much more fun to play)
