    I always thought it's about face-yoga. When someone posts an emoji he tells you that he just did the weirdest grimaces with his face and encourage others to do the same. As pattern serves the emoji.

    I can understand a single emoji to help add a visual aid to a comment or question. But when it is a string of emojis that are supposed to be making a statement or asking a question, I have no idea how to read it.

    "I'm so cool", or "deal with it", or bragging, or "warning! this thread is about how magnificent Canada is"
    sticking the tongue out is indicative of a joke in most cultures, I guess.

    None of those are emoji anyway.

    I don't overdue the use of an emoji, one per message max. Which emoji I use depends on what I write but most of the time it will be a smiley.

    one of the first things i did when i got my new phone was delete the emoji keyboard
    i never used it anyway

    I much prefer the good old ^_^ and stuff like that anyway
