Buying dps gear with Veiled Argunite

My paladin is mainly a tank with 922 ilevel, and I need to buy dps gear, but I don't know if an item that I have actually is a dps item and not a tank item based on the strenght stat. How can I tell?

Other than trinkets and legendaries, "dps gear" for a ret paladin is mostly interchangeable with prot gear.

You can buy as many relinquished items as you want. Just make sure your loot spec is set to retribution before you use them.

I got 2 shit and prydaz left on my holydin. The BLP should be correct, 15 necks, no prydaz feelsbadman

As said above, fishing for trinkets > relics will be the best gear you can get. Some trinkets from dungeons/WB/Quest when boosted to 910+ can be very good. Or any 930+ flat stats.

Then I would try to optimize my offset pieces.

Relinquished can give you any item from Legion, so buy 2. If you get the same one twice you just got really unlucky.
