    Report: Trump to end DACA

    http://thehill.com/homenews/administ...nd-daca-report

President Trump plans to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program "as it exists today" on Friday, Fox News reports.

Under DACA, nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants brought to the country as children have received work permits and deferral from deportation.

According to Fox, a senior administration official told correspondent John Roberts that Trump would end the program "as early as" Friday.

The program, instituted through an executive order signed by President Obama in 2012, is facing a legal challenge from Texas and nine other states, who threatened court action to attempt to block it unless Trump rescinds DACA by Sept. 5.

Trump and senior administration officials, including White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, have said they don't believe DACA would hold up in court.

And the Department of Justice has declined to say whether it would defend the program from the potential lawsuit.

A White House spokesman told The Hill Friday "we do not have any information to share on DACA at this time."
This is going to turn out so smoothly for the Trump admin. Although I suppose it's better then being sued by a number of red states, and they've made it clear they WILL sue if Trump doesn't end DACA, and losing, which is what people like Kelly fear would happen.

I bet Ann Coulter will be pleased.

People here probably never heard of DACA but will be angry because it was Trump that ended it.

You probably would have been better off arguing as to why ending the program is a good thing. Trump does some good things it is just the negatives overshadow any positive.

He would face increasing resentment from the business world if he did. He's already lost plenty from the Muslim Ban and failing to condemn American Nazis and the KKK.

[Also, Kelly might not be a fan of this move, either. Miller supports it, but without Bannon and Gorka in the room, his opinion is less valuable.

Especially considering the timing, after waffling for months on the subject, to do so now reeks of political desperation. Trump must be scared he's losing his base.

(checks recent polls, all of them)

    Oh...he is.

Well, that might be part of it, yeah. Not what they'll say in press releases of course. Problem is, very similar to the Muslim Ban and Trump's refusal to condemn American Nazis and the KKK, whether you agree or not with the companies involved, this will cost Trump even more support. Support he's low on in terms of votes and in terms of inside the Beltway. It just seems he's playing to his base, desperate to avoid dropping below 30%, at the expense of losing other people that thought Trump supported them -- or, those willing to accept things they disagreed with, in exchange for other benefits, that they no longer feel are worth it.

Agree or disagree with DACA, this move by Trump is not going to help his poor political situation.

Never took you for an anti-capitalist but I guess ideology can be pretty flexible when your idol needs defending.

Didn't DACA allow them to get social security numbers, and work authorization. How is that slave labor? if you have work authorization wouldn't work for at least minimum wage?
