Pets - How to obtain, level and battle?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and the world of Pet Battles. Where can I find comprehensive guide on pets including list of all pets, how and where to find them as well as what are the best ways to level and battle?

There are also a bunch of super useful add ons for pet battling and collecting as well. Pet tracker is one just off the top of my head that I like to use.

Rematch allows you to create and save teams to easily swap. Also, it allows you to create a leveling queue so that when you're leveling using trainers etc, it'll automatically switch out your "level pet" for the next one in line.

List of 26 pets that in some combination can take down all trainers in the game (thus far)

Perks and Peeves has a pretty good "getting started" guide as well that includes three different primary strategies to get started with your first level 25: "Intended progression path", "Progression path too long; I have a lot of gold and am willing to spend it", and "I DON'T have a lot of gold and/or am unwilling to spend it".
This is then succeeded by "Capture a higher level wild pet", "Battle Aquatic wild pets", OR "Battle Beast wild pets".
But I'm doing the guide a disservice - go and read it.
