    New GPU wanted

    Hey guys,

after getting some good advice from all of you regarding what to upgrade in my build, I decided to start with a new GPU!

Here, one again, my (older) build for reference:

    CPU: Intel Core i7 3770 3.40GHz
    RAM: 8GB Dual-Channel DDR3, 800MHz (9-11-11-29)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77M-D3H
GPU: MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2047MB

In accordance with my budget (ca. 550 €), I do want to get a 1080 GTX

I am not sure, however, what model I should get. I live in Germany and check prices via idealo (cannot post links, sry)

I am quite fond of the Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 AMP! Extreme (576€), but it is clunky (takes 3 slots) and demanding in terms of power-input. It is also is quite pricey.

I was also looking at Inno3D GeForce GTX 1080 iChill X4 11GBPS 8192MB GDDR5X (555€), which seem to offer a good performance but does have worse cooling...

What do you guys consider to be the best 1080 GTX in term of price-to-performance ratio at the moment?

    Thank you once again!
    Ignis

Your best bet is G1 Gaming version imo. Stay away from Zotac, Inno3D is fine, but it's gonna be very loud and you have to keep the dust to the minimum if you want those fans to last.

I had 980Ti from Inno3D and they are ok cards. But if you can find a MSI 1080 Gaming X for that price, go for it.
You don't feel like getting Vega 64? They are around the same speed as 1080 and at least here in Sweden, cheaper than AIB 1080.

You guys actually have Vegas in stock? Where? If it's not too overpriced I might be interested.

From what I can see, the Vega 64 seems to start from 600€ - and to be honest, AMD was never my favorite.

I remember to have read that the G1 and Gaming X seem to perform at the same level. However, Gaminx X is slightly more expensive and has marginaly worse cooling

    Well for example here:

    https://www.komplett.se/product/9439...vega-64-black#

5100sek = €535. In stock. They have several different Vega 64 in stock but I don't know if they deliver to EU or not. Komplett does have danish and norwegian sites as well if that's of any importance.
And I have also always been the Nvidia guy. But honestly AMD need some support even though they are failing, or else we will see €2000 Titans next year.
Vega 64 is a fine card, even though it's not up there with 1080Ti, but for that price (€535), it's not a bad buy. 1080 here start at €575.
