Had the idea while taking a stroll and I honestly wonder long term if a major country started to colonize and enfore their culture and laws on Africa if the country couldn't be turned around?

The way we keep on sending aid with no results seems kind of like a money pit so why not just bring the modern world to them?

Portugal just left Africa 40 years ago and you are asking for us to go back in? Fuck no, we lost a generation in the colonial war and their culture and laws are pretty close to European standards.

The US improved the educational system in the philipines so we are not that bad at colonialism and it was infinitely better to be an american colony than an european one.

Part of the reason people study history is so the mistakes of the past aren't repeated. This point seems to have eluded you. You're just proposing that "modern" people make the same fuckups as those that were made in the 17 and 18 hundreds with the only twist that you're wilfully ignorant. Thats not a good quality.

Cultural goodness is a matter of perspective, I'd say Pre-Islamic and Pre-British rule India had a lot going on and on many levels still dows.

Africa too had a complex culture developed for the continent before the Middle East and Europe decided to come in and change things.

That had nothing to with occupation, the result of Indian occupation is a rigid caste system that exists even today, female infanticide and a culture where bleaching your skin is somehow seen as better. That's not even going into the pillaging and destruction of their natural resources and people, read a history book or watch news outside of the US sometime.

We never did to be honest. I might not of been clear I am talking about conquering them with force and taking custody of their children in order to properly educate them and free them from their societies. This isn't a short project and viewed in the short term is monstrous.
