Rent just went up to $1000/month for 2600 sq ft 4 bedroom on about an acre with another 50 accessible whenever I want to hike.

    Landlord is very caring.

Downside is I commute 20 miles to work in a rig that gets 14 mpg lol.

    $700-800 for the ghetto
    $1,000 - $1800 for the suburbs
    $2,000+ for wealthy areas.

I live in the U.S. in a nice suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. I pay $630 for a 2 bed 1 ba apartment that is decent enough. Stuff that breaks usually gets fixed within 24 hours and so far (3 years) i have not had problems with noise or shitty neighbors.

The only utility i have to pay is electric which, when added to my rent is ~20% of my monthly income.

This can vary greatly depending on which area in/around Cleveland you are living in.

My fiancée and myself are renting a 3 bedroom house with two bathrooms, living room, kitchen, etc, average size front and rear garden, drive with garage and oil heating in an area that is pretty ideal for me (just outside the town, 5 min drive in).

Alllll for a shocking £450 a month. Utilities such as heating, electric and internet, brings it up to only £600 on a bad month.

The cost of living in Northern Ireland is rather low, that low that people actually survive and have a life on minimum wage (outside of Belfast, Lisburn and Londonderry but what city is not expensive?).

New apts down the street from where I work are $1600. Quick look at downtown rents look to be $3400-4200. (This is what drove me into a house.)

Its not great around here, but there are worse places.

I live in a University area, I haven't rented in awhile but it was $950-1100 for a one-bedroom about a decade ago.

    Internet says $1485 for a 2-bedroom, $1196 for one.
