Can't believe the stupidity of the AI

Playing Haunted Mines on Veteran difficulty in AI mode with Sylvanas, both teams are on level 23 or so and the game has been dragging back and forth.

But now our team is finally mounted up together and we are all on our way to beat down their core, there's nothing to stop us and I'm thinking "At Last!". But OH NO! At the last second right on top of their base ALL 4 of our AI team decide to turn around and run all the way to kill a mob at the top middle of the BG FOR NO REASON at all. The whole of the enemy team are there and we just instantly die.

What's that all about? Of course while we are ressing it's all over, GG.

Pinging a friendly bot forces them to follow you

Also, Veteran is pretty stupid. Even Elite doesn't compare to a human player

it's not long until human players are unable to even touch bots AI.

DoTA2 showcased a shadowfiend 1v1 where every top player in the world got completely destroyed, so the best 1v1'r in the world is a bot at least with very limited items etc, next year they plan to try 5v5.

but really there's not much point in adding such AI to the game oh good a 5v5 where you cannot win ever because if your mmr is 8000 the computer is basically 50000 and makes you look clueless.

They're working on it. Bots have a natural advantage that, if hyper tuned, will always dodge skillshots if available and always hit every shot they make, due to mathematical calculation beating human input in that regard.

The next stage of botting is developing one that is challenging without "cheating" - that is, playing extremely well without breaking the scope of human capability.

not very informative. Was it a boss? a merc camp? I could see them disengaging even if it was to farm xp. sorry but part of playing as a team means noticing when your team mate retreats. Alot of the behavior is obviously based on Priority tuning. before the core was extreme priority so all you had to do is hit it once and you could stop a snowball because at least 3 of em would retreat to protect it. now they changed that and if they are close to taking down one of your keeps they might not respond right away if their core is under attack. I had a game where we engaged their core and 2 of their lanes still had keeps but they were busy taking one of ours down and due to the new AI they made the mistake of not defending their core right away and we won early

they probably have a high regard for your keep or first keep since the lane spawns stronger adds, So if a boss or merc camp was endangering it they probably valued stopping that over damaging the core's shield slightly
I grew up Horde, and as a proud orc shaman I cant understand these people. "ooh we blew up your city and killed everyone you care about but thats no reason to be angry" "oh we destroyed your entire country and murdered your son, but get over it" "Oh we invade foreign countries and melt, torture and mind control our victims but the Alliance were negligent and accidentally sent Tauren into dangerous territory. THEY are the evil ones" The players hate hypocrites more than murderers

Yeah... The new Bot AI is a huge improvement over how it used to be, but they still do some really stupid shit.

The latest thing they LOVE to do is play "Avoid the human" where every lane I go into, they instantly leave. Even if it's a two man lane, I have to solo it.

It's fine if I'm playing a warrior or assassin, it's preferable if I'm playing some Specialists... But it's a REAL ballbuster if I'm playing support XD. Even pinging an Assassin/Warrior so they follow me around can lead to problems.

I think Blizzard implements very, very stupid AI as a deliberate design decision.
