It took Hillary Clinton days to issue this statement.

Good for her for finally coming forward and speaking out.

He's a huge Democratic donor. They should return all the money he donated.

Shame on her for taking so long! Guess we shouldn't vote for her in 2020. What an outrage!!!

They have. Or rather they've donated an equivalent amount to women's charities. Which is arguably better.

Almost a year after she lost and Republicans still haven't figured out that pointing at her flaws isn't a substitute for running a competent administration?

"OMG Clinton took FIVE days to make a statement! How awful!" - Republicans

"It's just locker room talk, it's not a big deal." - Also Republicans.

Did the Republican candidates return all the money that Roger Ailes gave them? If not, then you shouldn't be fucking hypocritical.

Well abuot a year ago today...

    • The first thing you’ll note is the Republican candidate for president of the United States boasting about sexually assaulting women is viewed through a horse race lens.
    • The second is that even on its own terms the headline was, at best, extremely misleading. Trump bragging about sexual predation was, in fact, a “breaking point” for few Republicans of significance. Note that even at the tine Paul Ryan’s reaction was just a fog of bullshit that didn’t actually suggest that people wouldn’t vote for Trump. Many Republicans did want to distance themselves from Trump because they thought he couldn’t win, without suggesting that the only alternative to Trump becoming president — Clinton becoming president — was acceptable.
    • Cruz’s successful con at the RNC was the template — use some phrases that gullible pundits can interpret as a non-endorsement of Trump, and allow you to portray as a non-endorsement of Trump if he loses as you expect, but also allow you to support Trump without even contradicting yourself. And even if you’re not shrewd enough to make an ambiguous statement, like Jason “I can’t look my daughter in the eye…[Trump goes up 3 points in the polls]…if I don’t support Donald J. Trump for president of the United States!” Chaffetz — you can just go right ahead and reveal that you were lying. There wasn’t a breaking point, and there’s good reason to believe that the breaking point will only come if he loses his re-election campaign or maybe is hopelessly behind in the very late stages. Ass-covering isn’t opposition or a constraint on Trump.

So if both sides were really the same. Democrats would need to nominate Weinstein for office at this point.

Here's an idea: why don't we just cut big donors out of politics?

Bad news for ya pal: the deflections are only going to get worse and worse as the G.o.trumP continues to flounder. It's all they have left.

He's donated $1.4 million in total over the last 25 years.

Still waiting for Trump or the Republicans to condemn Roger Ailes.
Or Trump himself, for that matter.

Have there been a lot of politicians in general speaking up about this?

Yep, time to politicize an isolated individual who has political leanings to one side. It's time we hold everyone responsible for the people that back them.

  17. #17
why is this even a news story?

Because they had to make it about Clinton to deflect from Trump basically doing the same fucking thing that Weinstein did.
