The Weinstein scandal had colossal repercussions in Québec

TLDR to go along the article : two dudes who got busted with sexual allegations that are no longer allegations were very big fishes in Québec. (Québec French speaking producers produce for a market of seven million people, with very limited ''market penetration'' in France and other francophones market-the ecosystem of TV producers/actors is minuscule, as there are two and half TV networks for the entire Québec)

Hell, one of the women who came forward, Julie Snyder, was the wife of the Québécois Donald Trump (a media mogul owning, well, one of the two major TV network in French).

(Éric Salvail, first big fish. Without going into stereotypes, as you might guess with the pictures, women were actually 100% safe with him...)

(Gilbert Rozon, the second big fish)

Being a big fish in Québec is like being Finland’s most popular weather man.

So "market penetration" takes on a whole new meaning?

The pun was intented, but Québécois usually struggle a lot to reach French audience, except maybe in stand up comedy (and then again, we are almost classified as ''ethnic'' stand up comedy), despite the langague. This should be a joke, but the French still thinks we live in log cabins and fight wolves and Indians.
