Patch 7.3.2. - Logout/Exit() fuckup or what is going on?

Since patch 7.3.2 I cant get the functions logout() nor exit() to work?
is this a big screw up by blizzard or what is going on????

It's a deliberate change in the API, you can't do that anymore.

I guess people were sending weakauras strings that caused the game to immediately quit or something.

/camp works fine, it's what I've always used.

nope /camp is a broken as /logout

login a toon and the first thing you do is /camp or /logout = error

you need to be only for some time for them to work properly.

And that is quite simply a poor argument, as weakauras is just one convenient medium.
Any addon accepting custom scripting could do that equally well.
As well as really any addon or script from any source.

Weakauras is not the problem there, it is just ONE possible route.

By that argument many addons should be banned, and many things in real life simply because someone CAN misuse them.
Cars, kitchen knives, guns etc - see now why that is a problem.

yes it IS when because of it 14 year old routines like logout() and quit() get protected. When someone does something bad with weakauras and logout()/quit() weakauras should be punished not everyone else who is using logout()/quit() as it is supposed to be used.
what you saying is when you murder someone with a knive, the knive should be punished.

you could share a weakaura string which called ForceQuit() on init,
which would cause the player to be unable to play the game until they removed the
offending aura from their SavedVariables, or disabled WeakAuras at the login screen

So because wa is bad regular basic wow function gets broken now, just great....

apart from the fact that the break is so bad done it even affects /logout and /camp when using addons with slashcommands...

yes it is because its done sloppy.
#1 you cant use logout/exit() anymore in any addons
#2 if you you have addons with slashcommands /logout and /camp throw up errors

So instead of the weakaura "coder" checking auras for fuckups blizzard punish all altoholics....

Weird. Probably why they're having the reboot tomorrow, to roll back that part.

non issue is a non issue. If your using a ui addon like elvui or whatever you're just gonna have to deal with it until they update their stuff.

Asking to break weakauras just because you cant use slash commands that NO ONE EVER USED is incredibly stupid. If you are telling me you legitimately use /quit and /logout then I dont know what i wrong with you, why would you type out that when you can click 1 or 2 buttons and have the same result with less effort. I can safely exclaim that 99% of players DO NOT use those slash commands. Real talk
