So I'm not a 100% clear on this but when they say vanilla zones will scale from 10-60 does that mean if I walk into the Burning Steppes with a freshly dinged level 10 will all the mobs and quests be level 10 and available to me or will they still be at 49-52 but can scale up to 60? I'm just curious as to how it's going to work as we've only had level scaling from a base level of 100 up to 110 as opposed to stuff scaling down due to levels.

Wrathion in stormwind?...as in Wrathion might birth a Black Dragonflight playable race?

I think it will be the latter. You still have some order for zones, but you're not forced to leave zone after 15 quests.

I believe they stated the latter. The idea being the zones scale up to 60 but not down from whatever they have been.

I believe they said they want us to pick and choose where we go, so all zones will scale to your level.

Terrible, awful, make scaling toggleable. Nobody wants that crap all of the time.

Have you leveled new characters through them recently? You can leveled 80-85 in Cata one zone and 85-90 in Jade Forest alone.

High Elves are pretty much Blood Elves and so it’s unlikely they will be a playable race.
This has me pretty worried about Mag'har orcs. Then again, playable Dark Iron dwarves will be a thing so it might be hope yet.

why the fuck does anyone care about that garbage heap asmongold? dude at a maggot filled sandwich on stream.

Potential to add the old world zones as a Timewalking event.

i'm worried about the consequences of level scaling for legacy crafting materials. if every classic zone 10-60 scales to 60 for high level chars, does that mean iron ore, silk cloth, or heavy leather will become unavailable to max level chars, and require a char in the appropriate level range to access? other MMOs with global scaling have that exact problem!

No Malphurion? I wonder where he is

    "Will we get Ogres?"

    "No"

    "Why not?"

    "Because reasons"

"What reasons? We nearly had Ogres in Cataclysm, they're more popular among the population than pandas and have been a long standing allied race of the horde, the game should have launched with ogres instead of undead (I say this as an undead main since vanilla) and in cataclysm we ended up with Goblins, again less popular than Ogres."

Just need a streamer to fucking grill their asses in the name of Ogres.
I level warriors, I have 48 max level warriors.

Zone scaling is going to be a wonderful addition to the game.

did not like any of the winners, liked them much more when they were all machinima :/

Being able to do the classic zones in any order you want is going to be interesting. Head to Elwynn Forest at level 50 and level up to 60 there? Neat. Also being able to actually complete the stories in each zone before everything turns gray will be great. I love that I can head straight to Northrend at level 60 too.

To those saying that High Elves is a stupid idea and the Devs saying they are basically Blood Elves...Um, isn't that the point and very definition of the "allied races" so far? They aren't new "races", just basically new factions of the same exact race. So that devs explanation just negates all of the allied races as well.

Well... not impossible, he is with the rest of the leaders, in the place where they are discussing the idea of allied races (that's where Turalyon mentions the Lightforged Draneai and Alleria the Void Elfs)

Well... not really, as they are in the same faction that have those races, excluding those that have such a different looks that will be seen as a different race easily from afar (Nightborne and Night Elf, and Blood Elf with Void Elfs).

Note: Void Elfs were just an excuse to give the Alliance High Elfs, without having to deal with the problem of them looking too much like Blood Elf.

I was thinking about that, maybe he bites the dust with Teldrassil, it may give much more reason for Tyrande to be aggressive -not just passive aggressive like she have been in Legion- (if that happen i would like her to go to Suramar and reclaim that place for her people -that was the city she was born in, in the end-, making the Horde & Nightborne alliance more interesting, and to make the fight between the Nightborne and the Alliance make more sense.)

People seem very confused about the scaling for some reason. They stated during blizzcon that the zones would have ranges to preserve some flow of story and element of danger. Westfall/duskwood would scale from 10-30 (range TBD) but burning steps/searing gorge would scale from 40-60. You will not be able to run to blackrock mountain at level 10 and start clearing trash.

Yeah I get the whole Void Elf thing, I just don't like the Devs reasoning. Pandas look the exact same regardless of faction. Lightforged Dranaei will look the exact same when you get them in armor. Yes I know they're in the same faction but the concept remains. How are you to tell the difference unless they have their helmet as invisible and you can see they have golden eyes....which is a big difference in Blood and High Elves as well.
