If there were a new law: Punish the criminal the same way they treated their victims.

For example: They tortured their victim by burning them alive.

Give it to them the exactly the same way.

Or if its something less serious than murder like: They threw boiling water on their victim multiple times.

    Do the same back.

    Too much?

What if someone negligently committed manslaughter by driving and texting and ran someone over? They didn't have the intention of killing someone, but their negligence caused someone to die. Would the punishers have to run him over with a car as well?

So Sukedachi 9 or other similar systems in fiction?

Also, given the not insignificant number of people who are falsely imprisoned or executed for crimes they didn't commit, should everyone involved in the prosecution and conviction be burned alive as well if they burned an innocent man alive?

Given the fact that false convictions increase proportional to the severity of the crime committed, it only creates an even worse situation for innocents.

First of all, you have so many false convictions, imagine if you did something horrible to an innocent.

Secondly, if you allow the same cruelty to happen to the guilty you're no better.

Eye for an eye is a terrible philosophy, and leads to punishment that is primarily based on retribution rather than justice.

Sounds like a nice idea if we are 100% sure of the convicted.

Punish child molesters by giving them a handjob? Interesting world you want to live in.

That is not how the justice system should work.

If you're in the US, it's not how it does work. Eye for an eye is unconstitutional.

No thank you. We need to more forward as a society, not backwards.
Human progress isn't measured by industry. It's measured by the value you place on a life.

    Just, be kind.

Nah, let's just kill everyone who is accused of a crime. Better be safe than sorry. We're all guilty of something. /s btw

This shit has always ticked me off. It's NOT the same thing. The person who was killed/raped had never done anything to begin with, while the convict HAVE dont something, so they actually deserve it since they did it knowing full well what they were doing.
