why are they balancing classes around tier sets?

    Hi there...

im just wondering why they only buffed tiersets from "bad" classes instead of buffing the class it own?

Is there a clever idea behind that?

Because buffing the class itself would also change how that class plays right now in ToS.

And it's generally more reliable to buff a class for a certain tier than the whole class in general, to avoid 2 piece and 4 piece mixing and some other funky stuff.

Except they are not doing that. Have a look at this chart somebody posted in another thread. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...sle=true#gid=0
It shows the difference in dps between having no bonus and the t21 prenerf. As one can obviously see, the setboni which gave massive dmg (like 21% for warriors or 16% for dh or 15% for shadows) got nerfed hard, while the really bad ones(e.g. Enhancment with 5.5%) got buffed.
They simply adjusted the set boni in themselves.
