Can we get a "dating website" subforum for adam to put all of these threads into :P

Yes yes, didn't have to click, didn't have to comment I know I know ;p

Don't get me wrong I'm sure you're not the only person here using them by any means, just that you are the only people asking for other peoples mileage any time it comes up. Pun intended.

As I said I will happily meet anybody within a 3 hour journey, unfortunately many are not interested.

    That's what's odd it's set at 30 max
40 miles is a 30 minute car ride in the real world.

So you are not familiar with the laws or police in OP's country

    https://www.gov.uk/speed-limits

and the problem is not just distance from A to B, it likely involves exiting and entering a town/city which is always slower but can cause huge delays if it's the wrong time and place due to sitting in traffic for half the journey

Am I the only one who now has the Proclaimers stuck in their head?
It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

40 miles is less than an hour drive even if you're conservative but if you feel it's outside your limit that's all that needs to be said. I personally never dated anyone that lived more than an hour away either, it just becomes a pain in the ass finding time to see them when you have a busy work schedule and a social life.

Um how slow do you drive that 40 miles would take 2+ hours to get there? Assuming you drive 55 MPH, that's less than an hour drive.

Doesn't seem like a lot. You can travel that distance pretty fast with a car or public transport.

My matches are all like 2+ hours away because I live in bumfuck nowhere. Though the upside to that is ocean view out my back door and mountain view out of my front. Sadly most women aren't interested in that distance so I'm stuck with trying to find a woman locally the old fashioned way.

OK OK fine 45 min to travel 40 miles, certainly not 2 hours.

You're welcome to find a route from Halifax to York in 45min or less

Fastest route is 57 minutes according to the maps I'm looking at, if you push beyond the speed limit that can easily be done in 45 minutes.

Considering dating sites use a radius....so that's 40 miles in any direction in a straight line. Yea it's pretty far...I remember setting mine to 30 miles when I first stated using a dating app and was wondering why when driving it would be closer to 40-50 miles driving.
