Also I fully agree with the person you quoted and I have had a retail job for years and jobs worse then that, so stop making shitty assumptions.
I work in a job that deals with the public as much as someone in retail would, my company offers online options to eliminate or absolutely minimize employ and customer interaction and provide better deals online and speed up the process. Yet we have a retarded amount of people who give excuses after excuse about how they dont do computers, they cant figure out the internet, its to hard, we are scamming them [ yet they still order]. Me and my co-workers are not grumpy as shit when dealing with people, we are grumpy when we have to deal with people that can get things done cheaper and faster via our website or app yet dont for absolutely stupid reasons.

That's not including the asshole managers and supervisors who only see you as a wage slave with no life outside your job. On late shifts, which closes the doors at 8pm, we have 15 minutes to clean and tidy up for the next day, so it's a rush to get out on time. But more often then I can count, supervisors and managers leave the front door locked on us late shifters, leaving us unable to get out the building and catch our ride home.

I listen to Christmas music all year long. Its the only kind of music I listen to anymore. Too many music artists these days are anti-American socialist scumbags. Just this year we seen Katy Perry, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Eminem, Snoop and so many others go political, disrespect our President, and get added to my blacklist.

    Dont diss Christmas Music!!

People are just idiots. Those "doorbusters" are usually last years model of TV or a shitty no name brand like Sceptre. Also those people who wait outside for 12 hours for the store to open should have just went to work, they would have earned more money working than they save on that shitty TV

I swear if I went back to a job like this as I am now, it would be fucking carnage, would gladly kick out any customer that gave me the slightest iota of shite. Zero tolerence policy should be in operation everywhere, with the discretion available to staff.
Customers are the least of ones worries in retail, it's the dumbcunts they hire as sales managers. They make running a store near impossible.
Oh hey busiest season a the year, yer 0.2 hours over yer dept roster, scrap 3 people now. good luck running a double shift with 4 people in the moring and 3 in the afternoon...

So you get low on staf, everything turns to shit, and that agrevates customers, which in turn pisses of my employees.

Sales manager comes in day after, happy with the numbers, and then proceeds to ask why certain items havent been resupplied.

    Fucking retail man.

Ive already decided im gonna add this job under the phrase "worked with the mentally handicapped" on my resume.

Thats what you get from being at the bottom of the food chain when it comes to jobs. Maybe actually learn a profession instead of doing a job a 16 year old can do the rest of your life.

Nah, for if you're in a fair country, you'll get a lot higher pay. After your shift ends, it'll increase with 50%, then after a certain amount of time, another 50%

Or more places like the amazon store will come and again eliminate the need for these positions, thank god for automation .. I cant wait for the day I no longer have to deal with grumpy workers.
hope you enjoy more welfare recipients and poor people slumming up your neighborhood.

Not my neighborhood they couldn’t afford it and trump wants to cut welfare so maybe you should bitch less about the people paying your wages.

I work in retail and it is soul destroying at the best of times, without people complaining that it's on the online store, they can get it cheaper down the road, and being on their phone whilst trying to serve them, only for them to look at you like you're the one being rude.

gotta get mah $17 an hour \o/ least in the UK I was a manager and could ban people from the store I worked in

How about a brief moment of silence for people in the food industry who had to deal with fussy families all day?

    /inhale /exhale.

Ok, that was therapeutic. I'm about to go to a local store to buy something, and I feel really bad that I was too stupid to get it yesterday. Toilet paper, in case you're wondering.

Let's all ride the Gish gallop.
