Which class and spec are top dps in t4/t5 content?
post above is misleading. it's HIGHEST dps per boss ever recorded, then averaged. you can create artificially high dps in hyjal with the necro haste buff, that's why hyj has bigger numbers than sunwell even.
http://www.wwsscoreboard.com/classplacingsaverage.php
averages per instance per class over 56000 raids and growing.
hunter, rogue, warlock.
As an average rogues top raid dps but locks and hunters get up there also.
Warlock by mechanics
But typical it's rogues/hunters, due to the available gear.
Im in a 3/9, 4/5 guild and as arcane frost mage im top dps atm.
Our next two dps are also mages and 1 hunter who occasionally gets me if his pet can get alot of time in
That wasn't the question.Originally Posted by Bus
Also, kick your hunters, warlocks and rogues from the guild, they apperently don't know how to play their class.
Well i was refering to the progression of my guild but as of recently we had some people leave and have been running t5 shit so i figured id mention it.Originally Posted by Nezoia
Actually our one rogue (sometimes two) and one warlock are good players. And we also only have the one hunter. I normally do between 1450-1650 dps in t5 instances depending on the fight. A good mage who knows how to gear for Arc/Frost is great dps though (i have 401mp5 while casting raid buffed, over 30% crit with a boomkin, and about 1600 average +dmg with a shaman/elixers) <--stacked group too
T4, some Kara and some T5 as in TK content your best DPS will usually be a Hunter or Rogue as there is limited AOE except on some trash pulls.
T5 SSC the best DPS can be a Hunter or well geared lock or Mage as there are more AOE pulls here which greatly helps DPS numbers of Mages and Locks. Morogrim comes to mind specifically, for the murlocks. That being said my T5 hunter was top DPS last 5 weeks running in SSC.
T6, starting with Hyjal is a an AOE fest for locks and mages.
I have never been out DPS'd by a rogue even though we have a few very good ones. Our mages and locks are uber geared and are damn hard to beat sometimes.
Regardless of content....
single pulls
Rogue / lock / hunter --> mage / warrior / shammy --> Priest / pally / druid
Aoe pulls:
Lock/mage--> rogue / hunter --> shammy / warrior -->priest / pally / druid
Dont forget Warriors can do insane AoE Damage too. They are defently very good in Hyjal.

Seriously though, assuming 5 sunders, cor, faerie fire, cos, misery, shadow weaving, spreist for casters, enchancement shammy for melle and other such stuff, t4/t5 locks should win imo.
At end game level with legendaries rogues/hunters should be coming top (possibly double glaive warrior, possibly) and locks not far behind. (assuming ur fighting a demon ofc)
I would say that depending on how long the pull lasts, warriors should be switched with rogues on this. WW, sweeping strikes, and cleave > blade flurry every 2 min.Originally Posted by numblocke
Well Ive seen Warrios do very well in Hyjal, on the trash waves. I did never say warriors was the best, but you should still consider it as a very viable DPS on AoE packs. They were also very good on AoEing the Legendary wepons from KaelThas. Mages can do nice AoE dmg, but they will burn their mana pool in like 20-30 sec.
Warriors can continue forever.
Locks are defently the best class for AoE atm, mages do very well in a short period of time, but after that, they are totaly fucked if they arent getting out of combat, so they can drink in 20+ sec. Yes they got Evocation, but it would be smart to save that for the boss fight.
Im just saying that you not should forget a good geared and skilled warrior.

An elemental shaman who knows what he's doing will also pass the single-target specialists on AoE pulls (though it might not be obvious because fire totems aren't assigned to the owner in WWS).
