    3) Weapon Spec is less mana-intensive. Equal damage for 100% less mana = Weapon spec wins. Even a 6y old can figure that one out. Oh, and weapon specs atleast got benefit from Spirit Weapons.
    1) The last time I was able to read the tool-tip for Wep Spec it said "Allows YOU to IGNORE 600 armor for 6 secs" which in my understanding of the wording means it would be an executioner like proc that only affects us...

    3) Wep Spec is less mana intensive...and I am 7 yrs old! SO yea I figured that one out already...but as has been stated many times....mana will be the least of our worries since our gear will be stacked with Int and mp5. One can safely assume a 9-10k mana pool with 130ish base mp5 (without Water Shield/Mana Totem).

Nah I agree with you...there's no point in even whining about losing a talent during a beta. I am just trying to argue the value of Maelstrom compared to Wep Spec.

Thats one of the biggest differences that people either see but choose to ignore the fact that shammies are being setup as a chance/proc class instead of rogues/warriors being guaranteed procs.
Again if you can't get 5 crits within a total of 1 min...15 secs max between crits till the 5th crit...then you need to invest in some Enh gear and quit trying to melee in resto gear...

Shaman have always been a RNG based class. That's the drawback of being a hybrid. Rogues and War's should not be dependant on "chance" they should be able to do dmg when they want.

Also with the changes to Hamstring and Mace/Sword procs it will be difficult for a war to generate nearly as many procs as they can now. With a 6 sec CD on Mace Stun and Hamstring dealing no damage, thereby eliminating it's chance to Proc Mace/Sword Spec, war's will be crossing their fingers for a proc just liek shaman do now.

Why would you want mp5 on your gear?
BM Hunters just need a big mana-pool to get more mana back from Invigoration
SV Hunters need Int for Aspect of the Viper which basicly IS mp5
MM Hunters are going for the same Int stacking, or they'll be stuck with the PvP label, not sure yet :P
Enh Shamans will prob want a large amount of Int, as it also increases Shammervate procs and reduces the chance you get mana bar overflow.

And the last Weapon Spec tooltip I read for Fist Weapons said "a 10% chance to reduce your target's armor by 25%(?) for 6 seconds." His armor, not penetration really, but still the same :P Hence I was already hoping to go for a Mace/Fist combo :P

Re: @Enhancement Shamans: Anything still needed to fix past problems?

wow this thread is astonishing. no wonder some guy over in the paladin forums thinks a ret pally would turn a shaman inside out.

enhancement shaman have very few problems that all shamans dont share. enhancement is actually coming out the best spec so far.

the totem thing is something that sucks for everyone. go minor in resto like every other shammy :P

totems need to be more durable. without a doubt.

enhancement dps is *FINE*, if not a bit too much and too easy to attain. mash stormstrike when the wf cd is down, spam shocks when its not. do top 10 dps from this while buffing the raid better than any other class in the game.

leave wf alone. for once in its life its not buggy and the mechanics are proven and understood by anyone with half a brain. if you dont get it you should spend some time at elitist jerks.

our cc problems are a thing of the past in enhancement. stuns will still suck, but thats not an enh issue, more or less a shaman issue. no one likes stuns.

threat wont be a problem. spell threat *might* be a problem, but i really dont think it will be.

shamanistic rage is useful, but the duration is a bit short to make it truly useful, that or the cooldown needs to be lowered by half.

maelstorm weapon is one of the best talents in LK imo. hybrids are shining like nobody's business in the xpac, and enhancers are the ones benefitting the most.

enhance gear itemization will be a thing of the past. teh only thing enhance doesn't get AP from at this point is spirit and stam. and i dont see even blizzard putting spirit on melee gear at this point.

no enhancer is going to have issues with mana, they dont even have that problem now.

i can't even believe people have things to cry about with enhance at this point *boggle*

pssst. weapon spec doesn't exist anymore.

ORLY? Good thing we were discussing the talent BEFORE Maelstrom Weapon, which happens to be .... Weapon Specialization!!

And btw, you don't wait with Stormstrike in raids, Ele shams, boomkins & rogues need the debuffs ASAP. And no you can't go off-spec in resto because you'l lose the possiblity for Ele off-spec (and you need your points in Enh badly enough already). Besides, anyone with a decent idea of what they're doing can get to top 5 DPS spots, all you need to do is focus and not slack.

And explain this to a person with 'half a brain':
Even though the tooltip says 20% chance to deal damage equal to 2 attacks with extra AP, without a single notice of cooldowns, you not alone do TWO attacks equal to 1 attack with extra AP, the proc rate is never really 20%, because there is a 3sec hidden CD to prevent it from proccing itself, even though this probably isn't needed anymore. Furthermore if you enchant WF on both your weapons, you don't have 20% chance, but 36% (20% + 80%*20%) to get a Windfury proc on either weapon swing ... if it's not on cooldown ofcourse.

And threat WILL be a problem, since not only do Shamans have 0 threat reducing moves (no, Reincarnation doesn't count, since you can't use it on Kazzak for example), but Spirit Weapons will only work for about 60% of your total DPS. And with WF we're even worse aggro whores then the majorly buffed Retridins and their SoCasino.

Enhancement itemization can't be part of the past, it never existed. In fact, they're changing our class mechanics to adapt to itemization rather then adapt the items to our needs (which they created themselves). All there ever was in items was either Hunter or Rogue gear. Currently Rogue gear is better, in WLK it will be Hunter gear.

You say some stuff that is right, mostly because it is already said in this or another thread before you, but I can guarantee you, if Shamans don't jump on changes and check out all the possibilities and consequences, they'll be left with half a class-change, probably one we still needed to get from tBC-launch but the devs just never gotten around for. Might be a pessimistic view, but I'm beginning to believe that the devs don't know what to do anymore exactly with the Shaman class, so I'm always very cautious when new changes come around.

    Totemic Throw
    3% Base Mana Cost
    1 Minute Cooldown
    Instant Cast
    0-50 yard range

"Casts a Totemic Throw Buff on the shaman allowing him/her to launch the next Totem cast within 50 yards."

Green circle to select the location that the totem lands.
    Anyone like that one???

Maelstrom weapon is everything but crap, just crit 5 times (which can't be hard as Enh shaman), flameshock, there you go: 100% instant and 100% crit lava burst..
