    mana cost of all spells

    Hi all,

    Am i the only one to see that the mana cost for all paladin spells are gonna get multiplied by more than 2, knowing that other classes spell have their costs multiplied by less than 1.5?

    few examples :

    Holy light rank 13, lvl 80, 1880
    Holy light rank 11, lvl 70, 840
    ie : 223% increase

    Consecrate, rank 8, lvl 80, 1475
    Consecrate, rank 6, lvl 70, 660
    ie : 223% increase

    Flash of light, rank 9, lvl 79, 420
    Flash of light, rank 7, lvl 66, 180
    ie : 233% increase

    let's look priest spells :
    Greater Heal, Rank 9, lvl 78, 1290 Mana
    Greater Heal, Rank 7, lvl 68, 825 Mana
    ie : 156% increase

    Renew, Rank 14, lvl 80, 720 Mana
    Renew, Rank 12, lvl 70, 450 Mana
    ie : 160% increase

    Power Word: Shield, Rank 14, lvl 80, 960 Mana
    Power Word: Shield, Rank 12, lvl 80, 600 Mana
    ie : 160% increase

    or druid spells :

    I am seriously worried about healadin viability in PVE end game in wotlk...

    actually, i'm pexing a druid... and not planning to play paladin in the extension (except in protect, but there are already 2 prot pals in the extension roster...)

    Maybe plate healing gear will receive more intel then other types of armor? So paladins are more likely to get plate over mail, leather or cloth?

    Paladins also get the Divine Hymn or prayer or whatever. 50% mana pool restored in 6 seconds.

    That's what you get for crying out for Retardins to be viable in PvE. I already see having 2-3 Retardins per raid, let's say there's a Tankadin AND 2 Healadins - wouldn't that be too many paladins for a single raid? I say - just make Holy into a pure PvP tree like what they did with priest's Disco.

    P.S.: I'm not saying that increasing the mana costs of spells is the way to make Holy the PvP tree. Just sharing my thoughts about the "paladin situation" overall.

    And btw, 155-171% is not less then 1.5 times, EVER.

    hunters are seeing the same thing with new steady shot and kill command. over 9000 more mana.

    and what do you know... hunters and paladins were the last two classes worked on. guess shamans too. anyways, give it time. if you are in beta, complain on the wow forums for beta users if you think it needs a change and most devs seem to respond on those boards like they did when it was mentioned on the hunter forum.

    I know Blizzard intends for Paladins to rock mana wise, they gave them a new channeled ability that restores 50% mana

    wonder why he didnt include shamans at the start of his post :P but as already said, mana pools are increasing and yeh so your heals have increased in mana but each healing class he it''s own styles of healing, hence why in raids priests always get my innervate

    I'm glad someone is keeping an eye on the mana costs.

    We are receiving a lot of great changes. Divine Storm for one, i noticed though that it went from 12% (approx) to 20% of base mana. If it was possible, maybe they could adjust it so that it would do 5% of base mana per target hit? only costing 20% when the max of 4 people are hit?

    It would make it a lot more versatile i think. One wouldn't have to hesitate to use their shiny new 51 talent on 1 or 2 targets worrying over the mana cost of it all.


    Btw, to any beta testers, about how much mana does divine storm cost atm?

    Blessing of Light is also being converted into our heals so I guess they seem it's fair to up the mana cost? Only way I can think of it.

    thats not a good thing with our piss poor passive mana regeneration.
    Beauty now spawns with only two pups in Heroic difficulty. Not to worry though, the missing pup has been adopted by a wonderful, if not insane family.

    I'm glad that Blizzard cares about the little things...

    i think this is way to keep specs balanced pvp wise. You must go for the spell cost reducement talents or you will be oom after 2 casts. As a playing shadowpriest kind a does make sense to me that they took this route and i bet they will balance spellcosts more or balance talents more around their current costs.

    They're expecting you to use Judgment of Wisdom. Did you not notice how they gave it an extra 20yards and gave it a spell haste proc to compensate for using a global cooldown?

    blizz has said that the mana on spells atm is just a place mark. they plan to lower it beffor wrath goes live. u can find this on the main page of mmo

    They plan to "adjust" it before live, that does not nescesarilly mean lower...

    Settle down all, it will balance out fine, nobody else wears pally healing gear, meaning that maybe pally heals will all be MASSIVE, as a MT healer.

    Really we cant be sure of anything until release though.
