For farming or content on farm yes. Otherwise, I doubt it will change the current "respec due to immunity" mantra.Originally Posted by Karpalo

Anyway there are a few things that imo, should be taken into account:
-SPriests are not a pure DPS class. Don't expect their damage to match those.
-SPriests have tons of differential utility in live. They are mostly balanced on BT/SWP, not on previous instances (OP there);
-The reduction of VT effectiveness will allow SPs dmg to scale without making mana irrelevant to those that have one in the party
-Don't expect SPs to mantain the "raid status" they had on TBC. It is not balanced. Don't expect more than one SP to be needed on a raid, two being borderline.
Regarding the current status:
-Still is Beta, numbers are being finalized. That said, it is always good to be concerned with things that are really wrong;
-Frost mage elemental mana return may get nerfed. Actually, ther was a blue post talking about mana regen in raids and he didn't even mentioned frost mages (SP, Surv hunter, DK?);
-The calculations being made base upon the elemental being alive. If it doesn't get any avoidance (like locks) I wouldn't count on it for the full duration, which means that not only VT is available 100% of time (mostly) as the elemental will have periods of "no no".
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
S Priest beats frost mages in this concern with recent changes if casters have 10k mana Emp WE gives 0.6 of that mana 60mp5 and is up 50% of the time with glyphs before cold snap with cold snap it's around 60% uptime making for around 34-35 mp5 where as S Priest get a constant 50 mp5.
These numbers seem very low to me since greater blessing of wisdom is a static 114 mp5 talented.
Double scaling to 20k mana and it still doesn't match that.
As such Mana regen should have barely any effect on how much damage output is reduced, in fact it is now imperative that all DPS is as close equal in output with more then 10 raid slots on hand for DPS to compete for due to all buffs being accounted for with about 10 spots filled in the raid
35-70mp5 or a selective 50-100mp5 replenishment buff that hasn't been clarified as being stackable is far too pathetic to cost DPS and in turn raid slots to a classes spec.
Cryogenic: Multiply all your values of MP5 by 5, since refreshment is .5% of maximum mana every second, not every five seconds.
Assuming 10K mana, low but reasonable:
.005x10000 = 50
50x5 = 250 MP5
12 or 13K is more likely, so call it 300 MP5 per player.
Still a nerf to shadowpriest mana regen per target from level 70 to 80. If you're breaking 1200 DPS right now you regen more than 300 MP5, although it does affect twice as many people now.
Uh, may wanna check that math bud.Originally Posted by shyg
The new priest mana regen is 0.5% per second => 2.5% MP5. assuming 20k end game mana => 500 MP5
The elemental mana regen is 0.6% per 5 seconds. Taking into account a (very optimistic in a raid environment) 50% uptime, 0.3% MP5 => 60 MP5.
So, no, if these numbers stand frost mages are not the new mana batteries... Actually, this buff is so low that it might be better traded by AOE avoidance...
Enlighten me. Other than the assumed maximum mana for a level 80 player everything is solid, assuming 100% VT uptime.Originally Posted by Merin
